Nat Hab's Alaska Bear Camp

A very important feature of our Alaska Bear Camp adventure is the small group size, as wildlife encounters are best experienced in a quiet, intimate context.

We charter private flights from Anchorage to Homer, and round-trip flights from Homer to Alaska Bear Camp, providing direct, effortless access to the heart of bear country. Our charters maximize comfort, minimize travel time and facilitate more time in the wild with bears.

Trip price includes: Accommodations, services of Nat Hab's professional Expedition Leader(s), local guides and camp staff, all meals from dinner on Day 1 through breakfast on final day, private wildlife cruise on Kachemak Bay, camp gear (rain jackets, rubber boots, mosquito nets, Swarovski binoculars, scopes and tripods), some gratuities, airport transfers on Day 1 and final day, all activities and entrance fees, all taxes, permits and service fees.

Travel to and from the start and end point of your trip, alcoholic beverages, some gratuities, passport and visa fees (if any), optional activities, items of a personal nature (phone calls, laundry, etc.), airline baggage fees, airport and departure taxes (if any), required medical evacuation insurance, optional travel protection insurance.

Internal air: Chartered flights from Anchorage to Homer as well as chartered bush flights between Homer and Bear Camp (this will be listed separately on our invoicing).

Our Bear Camp adventure offers a rare immersive encounter with Alaska's magnificent brown bears in one of the world's bear-viewing locations. Yet our remote locale doesn't require compromising on comfort: new cabins feature warm beds, en suite flush toilets and panoramic windows offering a chance to view bears that may wander by outside the electrified camp perimeter. Since this trip takes place way off the grid and is a 45-minute flight from the nearest town, guests must be prepared for all the vagaries that come with travel to such an isolated destination. These include inclement weather and limited operational materials, all of which makes a journey to our exclusive Alaska Bear Camp an adventure in the truest sense. At times, flights may be canceled or delayed due to poor weather, and some amenities may become unavailable until a new boat shipment arrives. But the adventure is part of the excitement, and we will use our decades of operating experience in Alaska to make the best of even substantial itinerary changes, should they occur.

Please understand that the hearty and tasty meals at camp are specially planned and prepared for well in advance. Dietary requirements due to serious medical conditions or strict personal restrictions can be met, with ample notice, but must be adhered to during the trip. If you have a very restricted diet, we recommend bringing some of your preferred snacks along, with the appreciation that certain foods are limited in this remote corner of the world, and there might not be many options.

This trip begins in Anchorage, Alaska, and ends in Homer, Alaska. You must arrive at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport by 1 pm on Day 1 in order to check in for our 3 pm charter flight to Homer (check-in is at 2 pm). You will meet your Expedition Leader and group at the Anchorage charter terminal, a short transfer from the main arrivals hall.

If you are flying in on Day 1, please ensure your flight arrives by the required time so you do not miss the chartered group flight to Homer. Because this is a same-day connection, we recommend arriving in Anchorage one day early to allow for weather or travel delays. For guests who come in early, recommended hotels will be included in your pre-departure materials.

You may depart from Homer at any time on the final day.
