Itinerary

An exclusive highlight of our green season photo itinerary is a doors-off helicopter flight over the Okavango Delta, offering a coveted aerial perspective of wildlife on the move. Travel with a naturalist Expedition Leader who is also a photography pro, adept at helping you attain your best wildlife and landscape images. Make special excursions at sunrise and sunset to capture the best light. And with just four guests per vehicle, there's plenty of room to navigate for the perfect shot. Plus you get added baggage allowance on internal flights to accommodate all your camera gear.

Itinerary

Day 1: Begin beside the Zambezi with a sunset photography cruise

  • Stay at a riverside safari camp overlooking the Zambezi

  • Capture images of elephants, hippos and abundant birdlife in the evening light

  • Join your Photo Expedition Leader for a welcome dinner and preview of the safari ahead

Day 2: Frame Victoria Falls and track protected white rhinos on foot

  • Photograph Victoria Falls from viewpoints above the Zambezi Gorge

  • Visit a nearby village for insight into daily life

  • Approach protected white rhinos with expert guides

Day 3: Cruise among Chobe’s elephants before flying into the Okavango Delta

  • Photograph elephants, hippos, crocodiles and waterbirds from a private Chobe River cruise

  • Take in aerial views of the Okavango Delta by light aircraft

  • Stay at Nat Hab’s intimate Gomoti Camp, reserved exclusively for your group

Days 4 to 5: Photograph predators and meet a resident wildlife researcher

  • Capture images of lions, leopards, cheetahs and African wild dogs on wildlife drives

  • Search for nocturnal species on drives after dark

  • Learn about local wild dog and predator research during a private visit with an on-site researcher

Days 6 to 8: Take to the skies for aerial photography above the Okavango

  • Explore delta channels by traditional mokoro when water levels permit

  • Photograph buffalo, elephants, lions, leopards and abundant birdlife

  • Fly above the delta on a doors-off helicopter photography excursion

Days 9 to 11: Capture images of meerkats and desert wildlife on the salt pans

  • Search for gemsbok, springbok and black-maned Kalahari lions

  • Photograph a habituated colony of wild meerkats at close range

  • Meet San community members and learn about their enduring traditions

Day 12: Depart Botswana after a final morning in the bush

  • Enjoy one last wildlife photography opportunity

  • Fly to Maun for onward connections
