I loved watching the lions play that first night. It was just so innocent and just spontaneous. And not just the little one, but pretty soon he got the sub adults. They got kind of involved. And then pretty soon a couple of the older ones kind of got involved too. It was just normal animal behavior that happens when they know they're just in their world and safe. It was so fun! When Dennis and I wanted to come to Botswana, Dennis had done a lot of research and he wanted to see wild dogs and this was the place to go and he really thought natural habitat was going to be the way to go. The very first thing we really saw was the wild dogs. All these pups, different ages, running around and playing and just to sit in the vehicle and watch them. In my heart I was thinking, oh my gosh I can't believe it. The first day out wild dogs there it is Dennis is so happy. He had his dog experience right off the bat so that was cool. There's got to be a mission statement or a mindset or something at NAATHAB to be able to pull all these pieces together the right way and I really feel they have. This has just been wonderful because I'm not really a tour person but you know this has been an experience that is so much bigger than what I thought it would be. And I've really liked having the small group. It's nice because you get to know different people. Everybody is a pretty strong character and yet everybody is having a good time and making allowances for each other and is respectful of each other. I think it represents what we can do. Different people can come together with a common love for something like this and have a positive, mind blowing experience. And even though you may not all agree on every single point, do agree that this was fabulous and worth the effort. My grandmother, my father's mother, took them to a different church every year because she wanted them to experience different things and then develop their own beliefs. And so my father's belief was that this is church. And it's true. Whatever you think God is, this is where it is. I didn't think I could love any place. I love this place. I really do. It's just, it's powerful. There are certain things that make you happy and it might be being with your family and that's one kind of happiness or having achieved something, some goal you set for yourself, that's another kind of happiness. But I also think there's a kind where you're in a place that for whatever reason, and I certainly don't understand it, touches you so deeply, lets you cry.
