National Geographic Gemini
Location
Galapagos Islands, Ecuador
Totally retrofitted for Lindblad Expeditions in 2025, the 296-foot-long National Geographic Gemini offers a spacious yet intimate platform for exploring the Galapagos Islands. With just 48 guests across 28 outward-facing cabins and suites, the ship delivers an immersive experience for small-group adventure and discovery. Its compact size and shallow draft allow it to reach remote coves and landings inaccessible to larger vessels.
Each cabin is appointed with configurable queen or twin beds, sitting areas, ample storage, writing desks, mini-fridges, TVs and elegant en suite bathrooms featuring glass showers. Select suite categories offer private balconies and upgraded services, like complimentary laundry.
The heart of the ship is the inviting interior lounge—Gemini’s social hub for daily briefings, engaging presentations, and relaxed mingling—complete with a full-service bar and adjacent library. Observation decks with chaise lounges provide panoramic views, shaded relaxation and a whirlpool hot tub. Enjoy gourmet Ecuadorian fare in the glass-wrapped dining room or dine alfresco at the outdoor cafe. A windowed fitness center includes stationary bikes, treadmills, free weights and adjacent space for yoga or stretching.
Designed for active exploration, the Gemini carries a full suite of expedition tools: Mark VI Zodiacs for landings and coastal cruising, a glass-bottom boat, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, snorkeling gear for adults and kids, shortie wetsuits and an expanded gear-up area for added comfort and efficiency.
The experienced expedition team includes a veteran Expedition Leader, licensed naturalists—many of whom are native Galapaguenos—a National Geographic-certified Photo Instructor, an Undersea Specialist and a shipboard doctor. The ship’s low guest-to-crew ratio ensures personalized service and in-depth interpretation. Families can take advantage of the National Geographic Global Explorers Program, with hands-on science, field journaling and activities designed to spark curiosity and learning in younger guests.
