Capture Stunning Images of Extraordinary Alpine and Glacial Landscapes— Wildlife, Too!
“Zapa is a delight to travel with - every day is a new adventure with him!! He has the ideal personality for a guide and the knowledge to go along with it. When a roadblock was put in his way about going to Magdalena Island, he worked through it and found a way to make it an incredible last day for our expedition. He communicates clearly about what to expect for the next day and how to prepare. Zapa is extremely patient with the not-so-clued-up, but eager photographers like myself, so that I am always learning and come home with some amazing photos. We look forward to our next trip with him to the Pantanal! We LOVED the variety of things to do - from hiking to boat rides, to bird walks and walking on glaciers. We thought it was a perfect mix of more active/strenuous days with easier days. We never had two hard days, one after the other, but if that had occurred, we were up for it."
"The highlights of the trip were many -- glacier walking, hiking, abundant wildlife. This is a good time of year for this trip, because many of the plants were blooming. Physical activity level was about right. I appreciated the ability to stop and take time to collect photographs, and really liked learning abut the local culture/customs. Zapa did a fantastic job."
"I can't say enough about our guide Zapa. We were always his number one priority no matter what the situation. Perfect english and outstanding knowledge regarding the area and photography. Always willing to help, very patient and courteous. His enthusiasm for everything Patagonia kept us interested and excited no matter what the circumstances, even rain. Got to know each one of us individually and made sure we each had a wonderful adventure. I always love the small group size; the itinerary was the perfect mix of activities: walking, hiking, bus riding, plenty of time for photography, etc. Liked the large bus we always rode in; we all had window seats. And Zapa was definitely a 'big plus'! I really can't think of anything I didn't like."
"The Perito Mopreno Glacier and sunrise in Torre del Paine were highlights, but I enjoyed absolutely everything. The relaxed pace, allowing us to stop for photos whenever desired was wonderful. Zapa is a fabulous guide with amazing knowledge and a wonderful personality. He was terrific at spotting and identifying birds and animals and spent a lot of time helping all of us with our photography. The extra benefit of learning more from Zapa about how to use my camera was an unexpected plus."
"Zapa did a superb job in organizing the trip, providing expert knowledge of the wildlife and the surroundings, and helping people with photo tips. I appreciated having the option of going partway on the Laguna Torre hike with everyone, and then returning with others not wanting to continue on the full 14-mile hike. Rafael was the local guide in Chile, and he actually played a large role in the EcoCamp and other places which were very helpful to everyone regarding trip logistics and nature knowledge including avoiding some snafus for some of the travelers at the airport. Between Zapa and Rafael they managed to turn a planned sunset viewing opportunity that didn't work out into an unexpected puma family sighting!"
"This a trip that you need to keep offering. We saw so many typed of wildflowers it was unbelievable. Zapa said he had never seen wildflowers before. We also saw baby guanacos with their moms and three really beautiful puma. And the scenery was just breathtaking. We really lucked out with the weather. We got to see all the mountains very clearly. And the rain was minimal. We enjoyed the glacier trekking the best, that is a once and a life time opportunity. Overall the trip was 10 out of 10!!!!"
"The magellanic penguin outing was incredible, in that we were essentially able to walk among the penguins, within the demarcated path, while they went about their business. This being a photography-specialized trip, we were allotted plenty of time within reason to stop to take photos, both during the planned activities and for any opportunities that arose while in transport between locations. I cannot praise Zapa highly enough. As with other Nat Hab guides, he is extremely knowledgeable. In addition, he has a fantastic personality, being approachable, enthusiastic, and warm. He went above and beyond what I would consider necessary in assuring our expectations were met. He made what was already a trip with a fantastic itinerary that much better. I would jump at the opportunity of having him as a guide again."
"Zapa is simply the best guide and most helpful person you could have on a trip!! He pays attention to everyone's needs and does everything possible to accommodate them!! He is an EXPERT photographer and helped me understand my camera. We tried numerous things in photography that were both fun, and informative! We liked Zapa so much we plan to travel to the Galapagos with him next year."
