Day 1: Arrive in Patagonia's gateway to the great ice field

  • Meet your Expedition Leader and fellow travelers over a welcome dinner

  • Base in El Calafate on the edge of the Southern Patagonia Ice Field

Day 2: A road-less estancia deep in Los Glaciares

  • Cruise iceberg-strewn Lago Argentino, fed by the Southern Patagonian Ice Field

  • Reach a remote estancia inside Los Glaciares, accessible only by water

  • Hike with your Expedition Leader as Andean condors soar overhead

Day 3: Land's-end views of South America's largest glacier

  • Drive by 4x4 to the only land-based overlook of Upsala Glacier

  • Reach the viewpoint ahead of other visitors from your remote base

  • See blue icebergs crowding the edge of South America's largest glacier

Day 4: Face to face with the advancing Perito Moreno Glacier

  • Cruise privately to the towering blue face of Perito Moreno Glacier

  • Stand before one of the planet's few advancing glaciers, calving into the lake

  • Walk boardwalks for changing views of the ice and drifting icebergs

Day 5: Conservation and gaucho life on Patagonia's largest ranch

  • Check in to a working cattle ranch on a conservation corridor with Torres del Paine

  • Learn gaucho traditions and how sheep dogs work the herds

  • Look for grazing guanacos, gray fox and Darwin's rhea on the steppe

Days 6 to 7: In the field with Patagonia's puma researchers

  • Join full-time researchers on the ranch's puma study at Las Condoreras

  • Review camera traps and scan with binoculars for elusive pumas

  • Watch for the region's wildlife on overland safaris across the ranch

Day 8: Into the realm of the Towers of Paine

  • Reach the dark granite spires of the Torres del Paine

  • Look for guanaco, huemul and South American condors across the park

  • Stay in a forest yurt at Patagonia Camp on private land beside the park

Days 9 to 10: Hike the peaks, lakes and wildlife trails of Torres del Paine

  • Hike to the French Valley, Base of the Towers or mellower lake overlooks

  • Follow the shore of mirror-blue Lake Pehoe to Salto Grande Falls

  • Walk the Sendero de La Fauna, a guanaco route through puma hunting ground

Day 11: Leave Patagonia Camp for the southern gateways home

  • Depart Patagonia Camp for a transfer across Chilean Patagonia

  • Connect with flights from Puerto Natales or Punta Arenas
