Martina TayField Operations Specialist - Greenland
I was born and raised in Tasiilaq, East Greenland, where the landscape, community, and culture shaped me from the very beginning. Growing up in a small Arctic town taught me the importance of relationships, adaptability, and respect for nature.
I later spent 22 years in Denmark and part of my childhood in London, which gave me a broader international perspective. Being ½ Greenlandic, ¼ Chinese, and ¼ Danish has made cultural exchange feel natural to me — and tourism became a meaningful way to bridge worlds.
Working with Nat Hab feels personal. I help connect guests to East Greenland in a way that feels authentic and well-coordinated behind the scenes.
As a Field Operations Specialist, I coordinate local logistics, hire and manage service providers, oversee payments and cash management, and support guest experience on the ground. My role requires constant communication with local partners and real-time problem-solving to ensure smooth operations in a remote Arctic setting.
Beyond Nat Hab, I also work on local sustainability and community-based projects in Greenland, which strengthens my understanding of responsible tourism and local collaboration.
Education & Personal Notes
I hold a degree in Multimedia Design, which supports my strengths in communication, structure, and storytelling.
Today, I live in Nuuk but remain closely connected to East Greenland. I’m passionate about indigenous empowerment, sustainable development, and tourism that benefits both guests and local communities.
For me, tourism is not just logistics — it’s about creating respectful connections between people and place.
