Colin Boeh

After renovating their new home at the foot of the Grand Tetons, Colin began working as a naturalist guide in Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks. His expertise runs deep in much more than just the charismatic megafauna of the Yellowstone region, however. He is also the Director of the Teton Area Birding Society and coordinates the Christmas Bird Count for Teton Valley. He has a passion for insects and useful plants and enjoys showing his clients the smaller dimensions of nature that are often overlooked. His enthusiasm for all the inhabitants of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem is infectious.
Outside of guiding, Colin can be found snowboarding in winter, whitewater kayaking in summer and taking long raft trips down the remote river canyons of the American West. He also enjoys growing food, climbing mountains, and BBQs with his wife, son and their many pets.
Praise from Nat Hab travelers:
L. Robinson
"Colin was amazingly patient and thoughtful. Also, he was quite knowledgeable about photography and the area, which greatly enhanced our enjoyment of the trip. He was very flexible about the needs and interests of the group, and I think we were able to see and do more because of this."
C. Stephenson
"Colin and Kurt are both amazing! They have extensive knowledge of the area and wildlife habitats on this trip. They were VERY responsive to the requests of each person, and I believe we were able to check off nearly everything on each person's list. They offered many photography suggestions and greatly improved my skills, especially with lighting considerations and capturing wildlife. I would definitely travel with either one of these guides again!"
D. Towne
"Colin and Kurt were as good as it gets; they took care of little details, they provided a wealth of information and they helped in every way possible. Thank you, guys."
D. Deamer
"Colin was exceptionally knowledgeable, truly in love with the area, very attuned to point out wildlife, committed to showing us as much as possible and very helpful with photography tips."
M. Stephenson
"Colin and Kurt were consummate professionals. I would go on another trip with them in a heartbeat! They were outstanding at locating animals and at getting us well-positioned to photograph them and the spectacular scenery. Having recently retired as a senior scientist with CDC's National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, let's just say I know a bit about safety. Both Kurt and Collin did a flawless job in ensuring we safely observed the wildlife. We did not have to worry about one thing. We were in capable hands. I also am a retired Lt. Col. in the USAF, and I recognize leadership, teamwork and focus on a mission. Nat Hab's entire team displayed these qualities, thus giving me the opportunity to truly enjoy the adventure. Our Expedition Leaders imbued us with a sense of adventure while managing to attend to individual needs and interests. I appreciated the depth of their expertise on diverse topics ranging from the natural history of the region to the wildlife in the areas we visited. Kudos to them both."
