Included
Accommodations, services of a Nat Hab Expedition Leader and driver, transportation within your trip, meals and drinks as specified in your confirmed proposal, some gratuities, airport transfers on Day 1 and final day, all permits, entrance fees and taxes.
Not Included
Travel to and from start and end point of trip, alcoholic beverages, any meals and drinks not specified in your confirmed proposal, most gratuities passport and visa fees, optional activities, items of a personal nature (phone calls, laundry, etc.), airline baggage fees, national and international airport and departure taxes (if any), optional travel insurance.
Physical Requirements
Easy to Difficult
These trips generally do not require a high degree of physical fitness, although a number of short walks are usually involved in order to experience the natural environment fully. Because this is a trip designed to meet your needs and interests, we can develop an itinerary based on your physical abilities to the best extent possible. Travelers should be aware that the heat and humidity may be very high and roads may be bumpy.
Depending on your itinerary, it is possible that you may reach an elevation of about 10,000 feet on your adventure.
Important Information About This Trip
Our Custom Costa Rica trip provides an opportunity for you to design a Costa Rica adventure that suits your interests, time constraints and budgetary requirements. While we have provided several suggested itineraries, one of our Adventure Specialists will be happy to help you design something different, if you prefer. Prices are per person based on double occupancy. A peak-season surcharge may apply from December 20 to January 5, and during Easter week. A green season discount may apply from May 1 to June 30 and September 1 to October 31. All of our custom adventures will be led by a Natural Habitat Adventures Expedition Leader.
Mandatory Insurance
Since the areas we travel to are remote and wild (that's why we go there!), we require that all guests have, at minimum, medical evacuation insurance for this program. This is for the safety of all guests. We require that your chosen independent insurance plan includes at least $250,000 in medical evacuation coverage.
To protect your investment and to provide peace of mind while you travel, we also strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance. Plans may cover everything from medical treatment to trip cancellations and delays and lost luggage.
