We’re pleased to announce that Natural Habitat Adventures was recently presented with a Climate Champion Award from Hemlock Printing in recognition of our ongoing commitment to reducing greenhouse gases. The printing of our 2018 Catalog of World’s Greatest Nature Journeys was 100-percent carbon-neutral, and each catalog proudly bears Hemlock’s ZERO program logo on the back cover.

2018 Climate Champion Award

Hemlock printed 170,000 of Natural Habitat Adventures’ 2018 nature travel catalog on 100-percent post-consumer waste, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified paper. Consistently raising the bar on conservation is one of Natural Habitat’s Core Ideologies, so we worked closely with Hemlock to choose the most environmentally friendly printing technologies and materials available, proudly continuing our decade-long practice of using 100-percent recycled paper for our annual catalogs. Hemlock Printers has printed Nat Hab’s past six catalogs on recycled paper, continuing both companies’ traditions of environmental responsibility.

Hemlock Printers produced the carbon-neutral catalog by purchasing carbon offsets on Nat Hab’s behalf, and has certified the offsetting of more than 234 tons of greenhouse gas emissions, which is the equivalent of taking 46 passenger vehicles off the road for one year. This investment in carbon offsets supports high-quality renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.

Hemlock is an award-winning printing company with a demonstrated record of environmental responsibility. ZERO, Hemlock’s unique carbon-neutral printing program, is evidence of the company’s dedication to mitigating carbon emissions across their paper supply chain. The company has also been operationally carbon neutral since January 2008.

Nat Hab is proud to partner with Hemlock and our many other partner companies that share our commitment to sustainability, and we look forward to continuing to raise the bar on conservation.
