Physical Requirements
At Nat Hab, we provide access to some of the most wondrous nature encounters the world has to offer. Many take place in destinations that are wild and remote, with varying physical demands and limited medical facilities. All trips may not be suitable for every traveler. In order to participate in this itinerary, travelers must comfortably and reliably be able to execute all physical requirements as noted below.

Late nights for aurora viewing, typically from after dinner until around 12:30 a.m., sometimes later after Daylight Saving Time
Relaxed mornings, with breakfast usually around 9–10 a.m. before activities begin
Travelers must walk at least 1 mile unassisted and navigate stairs while wearing heavy cold-weather gear
Terrain is mostly packed snow, with some areas of deeper or uneven snow
Travelers must climb a steep 10-step ladder through a trap door to access the Aurora Domes; a warm windowless space is available below, but indoor viewing requires the ladder, depending on the itinerary
Optional snowshoeing and walking excursions are offered but not required to enjoy the aurora
Travel by chartered aircraft, bus and Snowcoach
Not appropriate for travelers using wheelchairs or walkers
Travelers using canes must be physically independent or travel with a companion who can assist them
This trip is not suitable for travelers with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease or other memory-related conditions
Bathrooms are available most of the time; however, travelers with concerns about bathroom urgency may experience difficulty due to the multiple layers worn for warmth and comfort on this trip
Temps can drop as low as -40°F, with wind chills reaching -60°F
Travelers with heart, circulation, or respiratory conditions should consult a doctor before travel
Parkas, snow pants, boots, and other gear are provided for safety and comfort
Expedition Leaders will demonstrate proper use, but travelers are responsible for managing their gear
