Physical Requirements
At Nat Hab, we provide access to some of the most wondrous nature encounters the world has to offer. Many take place in destinations that are wild and remote, with varying physical demands and limited medical facilities. All trips may not be suitable for every traveler. In order to participate in this itinerary, travelers must comfortably and reliably be able to execute all physical requirements as noted below.

Early mornings and late nights to maximize wildlife viewing and exploration time
Travelers must be able to walk 2.5 miles unassisted along a variety of terrain
Walks range from 1-2.5 miles each; travelers should expect 2-6 hours of activity on several days
Most walks are at a leisurely pace with guided interpretation
Terrain includes gravel, rocks, pavement and dirt paths, sometimes on uneven ground
Due to wildlife in the area, there are no options for extended hiking
Travelers must be comfortable walking down a rocky beach to enter kayaks
Travelers must be able to maintain balance to get on and off Zodiac boats during wet and dry landings, occasionally over slippery rocks
Travel by chartered aircraft and bus
Zodiac rides require balance and mobility; expect cold conditions and no early return for discomfort (no alternate activity)
Beluga kayaking is beginner-friendly with a safety briefing; travelers must get in and out of a kayak on land, sit for 2–3 hours and may paddle briefly upstream (no alternate activity). Double kayaks are typically available
Not appropriate for travelers using wheelchairs, walkers or canes
Travelers must have good balance and mobility
Daytime temps typically range from the 40s to 60s°F, but can reach the 80s–90s°F in unseasonable weather
Overnight temps are cooler, especially near water
Weather is unpredictable; rain is possible at any time
Hudson Bay and Churchill River remain very cold year-round and are often windy
Expect colder conditions on water than on land
Travelers should be prepared for variable weather and dress in layers, including a waterproof outer layer
