2027 Itinerary—15 Days

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Antananarivo for your wildlife photo expedition

  • Opt for a tour of the Queen’s Palace and Photography Museum

  • Join your Photo Expedition Leader for a welcome dinner and preview of the photographic opportunities ahead

Days 2 to 3: Photograph the Avenue of the Baobabs in golden light

  • Capture images of ancient baobabs at sunrise and sunset

  • Meet Vezo fishers in a traditional coastal village

  • Learn about WWF-supported mangrove restoration projects

Days 4 to 6: Capture images of lemurs in Madagascar’s endemic spiny forest

  • Photograph ring-tailed lemurs and Verreaux’s sifakas among octopus trees and tamarinds

  • Walk through sacred ancestral forest with an Antandroy guide

  • Search by flashlight for sportive lemurs, mouse lemurs and chameleons

Days 7 to 8: Photograph ring-tailed lemurs among Isalo’s sandstone canyons

  • Capture images of lemurs across the sculpted Isalo massif

  • Swim beneath a waterfall in a secluded natural pool

  • Frame star-filled skies above the desert landscape

Days 9 to 11: Follow the haunting calls of Madagascar’s largest lemur

  • Track indris through misty montane rainforest

  • Photograph diademed sifakas and ruffed lemurs moving through the canopy

  • Capture close-range images of rescued lemurs at the Lemur Island sanctuary

Days 12 to 14: Explore endemic forests and a wild coast at remote Anjajavy

  • Fly by private charter to a 17,000-acre reserve accessible only by air

  • Cruise Moramba Bay past sea-bound limestone pinnacles and towering baobabs

  • Search mangroves at sunset for Madagascar fish eagles and flying foxes

Day 15: Fly to Antananarivo after your Madagascar safari

  • Travel by private charter from Anjajavy

  • Connect with departing flights or continue on a safari extension
