Itinerary

Day 1: Gather in Entebbe before your East African safari

  • Relax at a boutique hotel surrounded by tropical gardens

  • Join your Expedition Leader for a welcome dinner and safari briefing

Day 2: Enter Bwindi, rainforest realm of the mountain gorillas

  • Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half the world’s mountain gorillas

  • Stay at a rainforest ecolodge with direct access to Bwindi’s gorilla trekking trails

  • Learn how community tourism helps protect gorillas and their forest habitat

Days 3 to 4: Come face to face with wild mountain gorillas

  • Trek through Bwindi’s rainforest with expert local trackers

  • Spend an hour observing a habituated gorilla family

Day 5: Continue from Uganda’s rainforests to Kenya’s safari country

  • Fly from Uganda to Nairobi, gateway to Kenya’s wildlife reserves

  • Relax at the House of Waine beneath the Ngong Hills

Days 6 to 8: Meet the world’s last two northern white rhinos

  • Visit the northern white rhinos with a conservation expert

  • Search for the Big Five on day and night wildlife drives

  • Explore Ol Pejeta beneath the snowcapped slopes of Mount Kenya from Nat Hab’s Rhino Camp

Days 9 to 10: Go behind the scenes of community-led elephant conservation

  • Fly by private charter to Namunyak Conservancy and stay at Nat Hab’s Elephant Conservation Camp

  • Visit Reteti Elephant Sanctuary during a calf feeding

  • Search for reticulated giraffes, gerenuks and other northern Kenyan wildlife

Days 11 to 12: Explore a private corner of the Mara

  • Search for lions, elephants and abundant plains wildlife across the conservancy

  • Look for the Great Migration moving through an important wildlife corridor from Nat Hab’s Mara East Camp

  • Take guided walks and set out on off-road safaris and night drives unavailable in the national reserve

Days 13 to 15: Follow the Great Migration across the northern Serengeti

  • Stay at Nat Hab’s Migration Camp—Serengeti North, a private mobile camp along a major migration corridor

  • Search for lions, cheetahs and other predators following the herds

  • Track the migration in private 4x4 vehicles with the flexibility to follow the wildlife

Days 16 to 17: Search for big cats among open plains and granite kopjes

  • Explore prime habitat for lions, cheetahs and leopards from Nat Hab’s Serengeti East Camp

  • Watch for big cats resting and hunting around granite kopjes

  • Search for elephants, giraffes and zebras where grasslands meet acacia woodland

Day 18: Conclude your East African safari beneath Mount Meru

  • Gather for a farewell lunch at historic Ngare Sero Lodge

  • Relax in a day room before your evening transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport
