Location
Avignon, France
Inside Avignon’s medieval ramparts, this intimate hotel occupies three 17th-century buildings within walking distance of the Palais des Papes and Pont d’Avignon. Behind its traditional, stately façade is a colorful mid-century modern interior. The eclectic two-story lounge, which doubles as the lobby, is decorated in bright shades of peach, featuring a curved ceramic bar, geometric cement-tile floors, upholstered banquettes, pendant lighting and modern art. A soaring metal-and-glass display filled with regional wines forms a dramatic backdrop to the bar.
Rooms have playful, contemporary styling, with palettes of burgundy, blush, mustard and green. Upholstered headboards, graphic artwork and geometric accents give each room a quirky personality, while tall windows bring in natural light. En suite bathrooms have either a shower or bathtub, and rooms offer air conditioning, a desk and Wi-Fi.
The wine bar showcases regional vintages alongside small plates and snacks. A gourmet room-service menu includes black olive tapenade, Provençal ratatouille, honey-glazed pork ribs and old-fashioned veal stew. Breakfast features 100% locally sourced pastries, preserves, cheeses, charcuterie and eggs.
Green Key certified, the hotel uses energy-efficient lighting, improved insulation and environmentally responsible cleaning products. Used guest soaps are collected through UNISOAP for recycling and redistribution, while food waste is converted into compost for nearby farmland.
