Finca Adalgisa
Location
Mendoza, Argentina
Surrounded by century-old Malbec vines and olive trees, this working vineyard estate dates to 1916. Its rust-colored buildings—the original farmhouse, stone house and vineyard rooms—are draped in vines and linked by winding garden paths and courtyards. Common areas include a plant-filled solarium with whitewashed ceiling beams, a living room with sofas and arched windows overlooking the gardens, and a library decorated in rich red tones, historic photographs and dark leather furnishings.
Suites are spacious and bright, with floor-to-ceiling windows. All have a king or two double beds with premium linens, air conditioning, coffeemakers, Wi-Fi and en suite bathrooms with walk-in showers. Some feature freestanding bathtubs, garden views, wood-paneled ceilings or concrete detailing.
An outdoor infinity pool sits amid palms and gardens, where hammocks hang beneath mature trees and chickens and turkeys roam freely. In the winery lounge, ornate tile floors and wood-beamed ceilings complement tall arched windows opening onto the vineyards. Tapas and wine is served in the evenings in the communal space; traditional wood-fired asadobarbecues feature Argentine steak and sausages.
Sustainability practices include composting, water conservation and biodegradable cleaning products. Horses are used for some field plowing instead of machinery, while the estate produces olive oil and fruit preserves from its own crops.
