The bright and modern Alt Hotel St. John's overlooks St. John's harbor and is within walking distance to some of the city’s main attractions, like the courthouse, The Rooms Museum and Signal Hill, a historic site with trails.

An open lobby features communal seating and a pool table as well as a kaleidoscopic wall, “Alt Expo,” where more than 3,000 images of the region create a vivid mural. Large windows look out onto the Narrows, a slim, cliff-lined opening between the harbor and the Atlantic beyond.

Spacious air-conditioned king or two-queen rooms have Egyptian cotton linens, goose down comforters, feather pillows and blackout shades. En suite bathrooms have rainfall showers and Bella Pella bath products handmade in Montreal. Additional amenities include Nespresso coffee machines, camellia sinensis tea, HD televisions with Chromecast devices and complimentary Wi-Fi.

The hotel’s modular construction technique involved connecting separate, prefabricated rooms built that were built off site into today’s 4-story building, saving energy and reducing traditional construction waste. Other sustainable practices include geothermal heating and cooling.
