Secluded Botswana Safari

Our Flagship African Safari—A Truly Exclusive Adventure into the Heart of Wildest Africa
In the wilds of Botswana, you'll find the wonders that drew adventurers to the African continent over a century ago. Vast herds of elephant still roam the acacia-studded savanna. Hippos and crocodiles crowd the marshy channels of the Chobe River. Antelope, giraffe, buffalo and zebra thrive in the wetlands of the Okavango Delta and at watering holes that sustain life on the dry plains. Lions laze beneath mopane trees while leopards sprawl in branches above, icons of genuine wilderness that is vanishing all too quickly in the contemporary world. Intimate tented safari camps are reminiscent of a nostalgic era in the African bush, yet replete with modern-day luxuries that ensure your comfort even as you're immersed in some of the planet's most remote wilderness.  Discover Secluded Botswana for a timeless experience of Africa.

Trip Highlights

  • You won't find a higher-quality, more in-depth privately guided safari to Africa’s most exclusive nature reserves—designed for maximum wildlife encounters!
  • Luxury tented camps in private reserves—just for the use of our small groups—offer unsurpassed comfort, isolation and incredible proximity to wildlife
  • Our Expedition Leaders are Botswana's top guides who know its remote sectors intimately, getting you closer to more big game and charismatic predators
There Are Important Differences in Botswana Safaris
Botswana is one of the last true wilderness areas in Africa, teeming with wildlife that thrives within a mosaic of healthy ecosystems. An exclusive safari destination like Botswana—a “once in a lifetime” dream trip for most travelers—is one to do right, and we do. We've spent years honing this hallmark trip to ensure that our itinerary and accommodations offer a truly superlative experience of this epic African wildlife destination. While some companies run larger groups that stay in busy national parks or on the fringe of wildlife concentrations, our Secluded Botswana Safari delivers a remote nature experience that's replete with close-up wildlife sightings enjoyed in a peaceful and personal manner. Here’s how our Botswana safari is different from the rest:
  1. Maximum Group Size Just SEVEN Travelers!
African safaris are best experienced in small numbers, and we take a maximum of just seven guests accompanied by two staff Expedition Leaders. This exceptionally small group size ensures the most remote and personalized safari experience possible, allowing for truly intimate wildlife encounters.
  2. The Optimal Botswana Safari Itinerary
This special itinerary has been meticulously designed in conjunction with World Wildlife Fund to provide a secluded and superlative experience of Botswana's prolific wildlife—far from tourist crowds.
  3. Stay on Private Reserves
Rather than staying in more heavily visited national parks, we retreat to private reserves located adjacent to the parks, where we enjoy an isolated setting and exclusive activities that are off-limits to park visitors. Included are night drives in search of nocturnal species as well as short guided walking excursions, allowing a rare chance to explore the African bush on foot.
  4. Intimate Accommodations Facilitate Close-Up Wildlife Encounters
Wherever possible, we choose very small safari camps that blend into the environment, to maximize quiet, up-close encounters with Botswana’s prolific wildlife. Three of our camps—Linyanti, Gomoti and Pelo—have just five tents each, and their discreet presence enhances the opportunity for wildlife to wander through camp.
  5. Private Verandas for a Serene Experience of Nature
Classic tented safari accommodations provide individual verandas for guests to enjoy personal time overlooking the wilds of Africa.
  6. Chartered Flights
Charter flights (rather than long, dusty drives over rough dirt roads) between safari locations allow us to spend more time actually participating in safari activities, instead of in transit.
  7. The World's Finest Naturalist Guides
Our guests enjoy the personalized service of some of the best-trained, most experienced naturalist guides in all of Africa—a Nat Hab hallmark. Your NHA Safari Expedition Leader will accompany your group from start to finish, ensuring a superior safari experience. Rather than using less qualified local camp guides at each stop, our Expedition Leaders are the most highly trained guides in Africa, averaging 15 years' experience, with additional training and resources provided by WWF’s top scientists. Our philosophy on this is simple: an African safari is only as good as the guide, so we must provide the very best! See Expedition Leader bios and traveler comments regarding the quality of our leaders.
  8. Our Quality-Value Guarantee Ensures Your Superior Botswana Safari
With Natural Habitat Adventures, you receive our exclusive guarantee, which clearly states that we will meet the lofty expectations we set in our promotional materials. To our knowledge, this is the most ambitious guarantee made by any adventure travel company. Read our important promise.
  9. Feel Good About the Way You Travel
We care deeply about our planet, just as you do. When you travel with us, the carbon emissions from your trip are 100-percent offset—Natural Habitat Adventures is the world’s first carbon-neutral travel company.
  10. Natural Habitat Adventures is WWF's Travel Partner
Because of our commitment to environmentally friendly travel, as well as the exceptional quality of our adventures, World Wildlife Fund—the world's leading environmental conservation organization—has named Natural Habitat as its worldwide travel partner, a designation that makes us exceedingly proud!
