Physical Requirements
At Nat Hab, we provide access to some of the most wondrous nature encounters the world has to offer. Many take place in destinations that are wild and remote, with varying physical demands and limited medical facilities. All trips may not be suitable for every traveler. In order to participate in this itinerary, travelers must comfortably and reliably be able to execute all physical requirements as noted below.

Two internal flights
Early mornings are scheduled to allow maximum time for activities and transfers
Travelers must be able to walk 2 miles unassisted along a variety of terrain and should expect to walk a total of 2-3 miles per day
Walks range from 1-2 miles each; travelers should expect 2-3 hours of physical activity daily
Most walks are at a leisurely pace with guided interpretation
Terrain includes stone steps, cobblestone streets, hills, and pavement, sometimes on uneven ground
The Wayna Picchu hike is especially challenging: climb approximately 1,200 feet from the base of Machu Picchu by following a narrow, steep path with many stone steps carved directly from the mountain

Travel by electric van on winding roads with ruts and potholes
Travel by train to access Machu Picchu
Not appropriate for travelers using wheelchairs, walkers or canes
Travelers must be able to navigate stairs comfortably on their own
Daytime temps range from 60–75°F, depending on season
Overnight temps are cooler, especially in winter
Nov–April: 60s°F, wetter season; Jan–Feb rainiest months
May–Oct: 70s°F, drier with occasional showers
Rain is possible year-round
This trip stays consistently at high elevation, between 8,000 and 12,500 feet
Highest elevation reached is 12,500 feet while driving over a mountain pass
