Beth Payne

Born and raised in Michigan, Beth spent her childhood in the countryside, immersed in the beauty of the woods and the Great Lakes. A musty shelf of old National Geographic magazines at her grandparents' house sparked her wanderlust, providing a window to the broader world that she was determined to explore.

Beth started her career as a travel agent, dedicating a decade to the role before shifting to the supplier side. She has specialized in adventure travel since 2018 and is thrilled to join Nat Hab as a North America Project Manager & Voyage Specialist. Her top three travel experiences are the Galapagos for its unique, intimate wildlife encounters (snorkeling with penguins was a highlight!); Antarctica for its staggering scale (voluntarily plunging into the Weddell Sea resulted in a hasty, shivering swim back to safety); and Patagonia for its surreal scenery and fantastic hiking opportunities within a well-preserved ecosystem. To date, Beth has visited 10 countries, 39 states and 14 national parks. An African safari is at the top of her bucket list.

Beth celebrated her wedding amidst the stunning vistas of Yosemite National Park. A single visit to the Pacific Northwest then sparked a life-changing decision. Within three months, Beth and her husband had resigned from their jobs in Michigan, sold their house, and relocated halfway across the country to Oregon, where they are now based. They love the choice between mountains and ocean that each day offers, enjoying the best of both worlds. Beth’s hobbies include hiking, camping, kayaking, baking, solving word puzzles and gardening.
