Location of Adventure
Brazil, South America
Group Size Limit
Approximately 12 Travelers
A very important feature of our Brazil ecotourism adventure is the limited group size, as nature expeditions are best experienced with small groups of travelers.
Our Specialized 4x4 Land Rovers and Land Cruisers
Our Private Leaders
Accommodations, meals from dinner on Day 1 through breakfast on final day, safe drinking water, services of NHA’s Expedition Leader, local guides and lodge staff, some gratuities, airport transfers, park entrance fees and permits, all taxes.
Not Included
Travel to and from start and end point of trip, internal flights Rio-Campo Grande-Iguacu (approximately $525, collected in advance), alcoholic beverages, most gratuities, passport, reciprocity and visa fees, optional activities, items of a personal nature (phone calls, souvenirs, etc.), airline baggage fees, airport and departure taxes (both international and domestic), optional travel insurance.
Physical Requirements
While this trip does not require a substantial degree of physical fitness, in order to participate fully in this itinerary, guests should be able to undertake several walks and hikes that are typically two to three miles in length, over mostly flat and dry but sometimes uneven terrain. The longest walk is in the Pantanal, four miles over flat terrain. Steps are involved on some walks in the Iguacu Falls area. Metal walkways along the rim at Iguacu Falls are often wet and slippery from the spray of the falls and should be navigated with care. Sturdy walking shoes with good traction are recommended. All activities are optional.
Important Information About This Trip
Brazll's vast Pantanal is home to diverse wildlife, which we will seek out using a variety of transportation options. We will walk, use 4x4 vehicles for our best opportunity to observe wildlife and traverse lakes within the refuge by canoe. Late November through early May are the wettest months, growing progressively drier through April and May when tropical hardwoods begin to bloom.
Mandatory Insurance
