A very important feature of our trips is the limited group size as nature expeditions are best experienced with smaller sized groups of travelers.

Our Specialized 4 X 4 Safari Vehicles
As with all of our adventures around the world, our focus is on wildlife and nature viewing and in Africa a big portion of that is performed during our wildlife drives. We will explore the wilds of Kenya in custom-built, durable 4x4 Toyota Land Cruisers or Land Rovers. Our vehicles seat up to five guests plus a guide giving all travelers a window seat and access to one of three separate roof hatches, or one large one, that can be opened to maximize photo opportunities or closed during inclement weather and longer transfers. In certain areas, open sided vehicles with a canvas roof are used, offering an open field of view and protection from the elements. In Tanzania our safari vehicles are specially-adapted, reinforced, roof-hatch Land Cruisers seating 4-5 travelers each, all in window seats. The custom-installed Volvo bucket seats have superior quality spring cushions and adjustable lumbar support for incomparable comfort. Since each row has its own roof hatch, and sits slightly higher than the row in front of it, all guests enjoy excellent viewing opportunities. With no middle seats, there is plenty of room for gear and extra leg room. Built to withstand the rigors of rough roads, the safari vehicles in both countries provide a comfortable ride and excellent game viewing opportunities for travelers. Refrigerators/ice boxes keep drinks cool for our guests and an on board library of bird and mammal books offer insight into the region’s natural history.

Internal scheduled and light aircraft flights, accommodations, meals from dinner Day 1 to lunch final day, non-alcoholic drinks at camps and with meals, house alcoholic beverages, services of NHA Expedition Leaders, local guides, and camp and lodge staff, some gratuities, airport transfers on Day 1 and final day, permits & entrance fees, and all taxes.

Not Included
Travel to and from start and end point of trip, premium alcoholic beverages, some gratuities, passport and visa fees, optional activities, items of a personal nature (phone calls, souvenirs, etc.), airline baggage fees, airport and departure taxes, optional travel insurance, and required medical evacuation insurance.

Physical Requirements
Easy/Flexible
Our walking activities are usually short and optional. We do, however, recommend that travelers who participate in these programs be of an adventurous spirit, as they will often enjoy the very closest of animal encounters and safari vehicles can sometimes offer a bumpy ride.

Important Information
This comprehensive itinerary is designed to show travelers the very best wildlife destinations these two countries have to offer. We will have two different Expedition Leaders on this trip, one for Kenya, and another Tanzania, to allow each guide to impart expert knowledge about his respective country to our guests.

Getting There & Getting Home
You must arrive in Nairobi, Kenya before 6:30pm on Day 1 and may depart Arusha, Tanzania anytime after 5pm on the final day.
