Location of Adventure
Tanzania, East Africa
Group Size Limit
Approximately 12 Travelers
A very important feature of our Tanzania Africa safari is the limited group size, as nature expeditions are best experienced with smaller groups of travelers.
Specialized 4x4 Land Rovers and Land Cruisers
As with all of our global adventures, our focus is on wildlife and nature viewing, and in Africa a big portion of that happens during our wildlife drives. Our Tanzania safari vehicles are specially adapted, reinforced Land Cruisers seating 4-7 travelers each, all with a window seat. The custom-installed bucket seats have superior-quality spring cushions and adjustable lumbar support for incomparable comfort. Since each row has its own roof hatch and sits slightly higher than the row in front of it, all guests enjoy excellent viewing opportunities. With no middle seats, there is plenty of room for gear and extra leg room. Refrigerators/ice boxes keep drinks cool for our guests and an on-board library of bird and mammal books offer insight into the region’s natural history. As is the case with all of our vehicles, these safari trucks are enhanced with extra suspension to ensure the most comfortable ride possible in the wilds of Africa.
Our Private Leaders
Internal light aircraft flight from Serengeti to Arusha, accommodations, all meals from dinner on Day 1 to lunch on final day, house alcoholic beverages, services of NHA Expedition Leader, local guides and lodge and camp staff, some gratuities, airport transfers on Day 1 and final day, permits and entrance fees, and all taxes.
Travel to and from start and end point of trip, premium alcoholic beverages, some gratuities, passport and visa fees, optional activities, items of a personal nature (phone calls, souvenirs, etc.), airline baggage fees, airport and departure taxes, optional travel insurance, and required medical evacuation insurance.
There is no strenuous activity involved during this safari, though a safari vehicle frequently offers a bumpy ride. Wildlife drives often involve long hours of sitting and sometimes bouncing around. While we don't consider this strenuous, it can be uncomfortable and pose a particular type of physical demand on the body. All travelers must be able to climb into and out of the raised 4x4 trucks that we use for safari vehicles. They must also be able to walk to and from the vehicle to our camp accommodations, which sometimes involves walking over uneven ground or on boardwalks. Additionally, while any short walks are considered optional, you will get the most out of your safari experience if you can walk a mile or two over uneven ground without assistance. Safari accommodations and vehicles are not heated and several of our adventures take place during the winter months in Africa, so it is critical that travelers come prepared. We recommend that all travelers have an adventurous spirit, as they will often enjoy the closest animal encounters.
Important Information About This Trip
This safari is designed to showcase the finest wildlife areas of Tanzania. We strive to create a well-rounded safari experience that carefully complements wildlife viewing with scenic highlights and interesting features of the different ecosystems we visit. After years of tailoring this itinerary, including the securing of various permits, we have created an itinerary that incorporates the best wildlife spots while maintaining the seclusion and atmospheric accommodations that make an Natural Habitat trip so special. Add an extension to the mountain gorillas of Uganda or Rwanda to make this a truly all-encompassing African wildlife experience.
Since the areas we travel to on this trip are remote and wild (that's why we go there!), we require medical evacuation insurance for our guests' safety. If you decline the medical evacuation insurance coverage offered by Natural Habitat, we request that you send us documentation of the independent coverage you have selected. We will add the cost of a medical evacuation policy to your tour invoice until you provide our office with proof of coverage including your insurance company's name, contact number and your individual policy number. Thank you for understanding that our policy exists exclusively in the interest of our guests' safety.
