The Lexington at Jackson Hole
Jackson, WY

Ideally situated in the heart of Jackson less than two blocks's walk from the town square, the Lexington provides distinctive accommodations in an atmosphere of rustic mountain elegance.  The hotel blends western hospitality, contemporary luxury and first-class amenities to create a comfortable stay. Well-appointed rooms have plush pillow-top mattresses, heated slate bathroom floors, wood furniture, flat screen TVs, microwave, fridge and pod coffeemaker. Soak in the heated indoor pool or hot tub, make use of the business and/or fitness centers, or grab a cup of cocoa or tea and enjoy the company of newfound friends in the impressive lobby lounge with its stone fireplace, wrought-iron chandeliers and two-story floor-to-ceiling windows.
Jackson Lake Lodge
Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Jackson Lake Lodge is the premier accommodation in Grand Teton National Park. Built in 1955, it was the first example of modernist architecture in a national park. The contemporary design was intended to express a sense of a new era after World War II. Its ambitious size was a nod to the importance of the national parks to American culture and tourism, and a boost to the post-war economy. Though its look was very different from other grand national park lodges, the flat concrete and glass structure was designed to blend in with the landscape as much as its rustic-style predecessors. In 2003, the lodge was designated a National Historic Landmark. Today, Jackson Lake Lodge offers guests the same impressive encounter with one of the West's most striking settings as it did when it opened. In the main lounge, soaring stone walls hold 60-foot floor-to-ceiling plate glass windows that showcase the lake and Teton peaks beyond, which rear straight up from the valley floor. Walking paths along the willow flats area in front the lodge may reveal glimpses of deer, moose and other wildlife.

Accommodations are in lodge rooms and classic cottages in a forested setting just a few minutes' walk from the main lodge. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all guest rooms. Rooms also have a mini-fridge, coffeemaker, phone, USB charging station, iron, hair dryer and bathroom toiletries. Rooms do not have television or air conditioning, though you likely won't miss them, as the lodge is located at 6,867 feet—evenings can be quite cool—and we'll be outside observing nature and wildlife most of the time anyway, which is the draw of any stay here.

Jackson Lake Lodge is still operated by Grand Teton Lodge Company, which was founded in the mid-1950s by John D. Rockefeller, Jr. in tandem with the construction of the lodge. The company is a leader in environmentally responsible practices, implementing an extensive recycling program, using high-efficiency lighting, low-flow water fixtures, eco-friendly cleaning agents, and recycled-content carpet and mattresses, and building its dining room menus around local and sustainable food sources.
Old Faithful Inn
Yellowstone National Park, WY

A national historic landmark built from 1903-1904 of local logs and stone, Old Faithful Inn is considered the largest log structure in the world. Its distinctive architectural details include shingled siding and gabled windows tucked under steep eaves.  The grand, multi-story lobby features a towering stone fireplace, open balconies trimmed with rustic log poles, Native American rugs, and a handcrafted clock made of copper, wood and wrought iron. Guest rooms exude Old West ambience, some with log walls and porcelain soaking tubs, others more contemporary in character. Rooms have one or two queen beds and private en suite bathrooms. In keeping with the historic nature of the inn, rooms do not have television, radio or air conditioning.
Old Faithful Snow Lodge
Yellowstone National Park, WY

Located near Yellowstone's most famous geyser, Old Faithful, the Snow Lodge is the newest of Yellowstone's full-service hotels and has been recognized with the Cody Award for Western Design. Built in 1999, the heavy timber construction, exterior log columns and cedar shingle roof are integral elements that make the Snow Lodge a modern example of classic national park architecture. Accommodations include lodge rooms and cabins with interior furnishings featuring wildlife and park themes. Full bathrooms, telephones, coffee makers, refrigerators and hair dryers are located in all rooms. In keeping with the natural surroundings of Yellowstone, televisions, radios and air conditioning are not available. Internet service is available for purchase in guest rooms and lobby areas. A full-service dining room, quick-service "Geyser Grill" and Bear Den Gift Store round out the amenities at Old Faithful Snow Lodge.
Canyon Lodge
Yellowstone National Park, WY

Sprawling Canyon Lodge is located on the east side of Yellowstone National Park near the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. Extensively renovated in 2016 to be a trailblazer in sustainable national park lodging, the complex features five separate LEED-certified buildings incorporating extensive recycled or renewable materials and highly energy-efficient constructions. Canyon Lodge was named one of The New York Times' top five hotels for eco-conscious travelers. The lodge incorporates both updated and new construction to create a harmonious setting blending contemporary elements with traditional architectural details in a nod to the park's past. Heavy beams, standing log floor lamps, peeled pine beds, two-panel hardwood doors, and mullioned windows framed by pine shutters enhance the classic Old West atmosphere, in a variety of room configurations, all with private en suite bath. In keeping with the historic character of park accommodations, rooms do not include TV or air conditioning.
Super 8 Cooke City
Cooke City, Montana

Cooke City is a historic hamlet near the northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Only a handful of accommodations are open in the winter, and the Super 8 provides the town's best available lodging with excellent proximity to the remote Lamar Valley, our focus for wolf watching in the park. Basic but comfortable, guest rooms have TV, Wi-Fi, fridge, microwave and self-serve coffee-making facilities. A washer and dryer are available for guests' self-serve laundry needs. The motel enjoys a prime location right on Cooke City's main street, and its log facade evokes the Old West atmosphere of the region.
