Naturalist guide, author and photographer Kurt Johnson keeps his travelers animated even after the sun goes down, when the focus turns to the night sky. Astrophotography is a special interest of Kurt’s, which he enjoys sharing with guests on photo tours when the skies are clear. That’s often the case in the Greater Yellowstone region, and Kurt’s Nat Hab photo expedition got in on some exciting nighttime photo opportunities at Old Faithful earlier this fall. Even if you aren’t an aspiring star photographer, there’s nothing like exploring the wonder of the night sky from a dark and remote location in nature. Kurt offers an overview in this webinar, discussing common constellations, planets and celestial objects visible in the northern hemisphere, plus tips for capturing challenging phenomena like the Milky Way, northern lights and solar eclipses.
