Memorable Moments with the Polar Bears of Churchill
Expedition Leader Jeremy Covert has a special place in his heart for Churchill, Manitoba and its most famous residents. Of course, we’re talking about the Arctic’s most celebrated carnivore and charismatic marine mammal, the shaggy white beast that gives Churchill its nickname: Polar Bear Capital of the World. Learn all about polar bears in today’s webinar as Jeremy explains how and why they are so different from brown and black bears, what their behaviors and personality traits are like, and why they thrive in what appears to be a harsh and barren landscape. He’ll talk about the obvious and subtle threats polar bears face, as well as the hardy people who live among them—the residents of the small town of Churchill, who find both challenge and reward being neighbors with polar bears.
