Fireside Chats with Rich and Matt: African Lions and Buffalo
These “Fireside Chats” are a series of webinars focused on dynamic animal interactions in the wild. In this inaugural program, South African guides Richard de Gouveia and Matt Meyer take us deep into the relationship between two “eternal enemies”—the lion and the buffalo. As two of the most powerful animals on the savanna, this is a relationship of equals. A buffalo is no easy meal for a lion, and the risk vs. reward equation factors into every hunt. This is a relationship that impacts not only these two species, but other animals in the ecosystem and the environment as a whole.
