Throughout the history of the earth, flora and fauna have adapted over millennia to their ever-changing environments—and by doing so, they have interacted with one another as well, evolving when and where necessary in order to survive and thrive. Enter Homo sapiens, one of the first species which, in addition to adapting to a changing environment, began to adapt its environment to benefit itself. In today’s Fireside Chat, the second of a three-part series, Richard and Matt discuss how the domestication of plants and animals (and the H.sapiens species itself) has allowed humans to proliferate and populate every corner of the earth and become what is arguably the single most successful mammalian species the planet has ever seen.
