Fireside Chat with Rich & Matt: Great Rivers of Africa
Pull up a virtual chair around the campfire and join safari guides Rich and Matt for a fascinating look at some of Africa's mighty rivers, which have played such an integral role in the natural and cultural history of the continent. The major focus will be on the Nile, the Congo and the Zambezi/Okavango river systems, with a few other rivers noted as well. Matt and Rich will talk about how these great rivers were formed and how they have shifted over millennia, examining their profound impact in shaping the environments surrounding them, affecting habitats, wildlife and people alike. Africa's rivers have held important meaning to the many different civilizations that have sprung up alongside them, molding cultures just as they have molded landscapes. These critical freshwater arteries have played an elemental role for eons in forming the wonders of Africa. You'll come away intrigued and enlightened by a presentation touching on geography, biology and anthropology and more!
