Fireside Chat with Rich & Matt: Birds of Africa Part III

When you think African wildlife, you probably picture lions and rhinos and elephants. But there’s a whole other realm of fauna most travelers aren’t so well acquainted with, which will also intrigue and delight you! Join Rich and Matt on an avian safari as we explore another sampler of Africa's intriguing birds. Our African Expedition Leaders are back with a final episode of their webinar series featuring some of the continent's lesser-known, but equally captivating, creatures. Africa is home to 2,366 different bird species, and two-thirds of those are endemic – found on no other continent. The way these birds have adapted to survive and thrive in widely varied habitats – from dense rain forest to vast savanna and stark desert – is astonishing. Matt and Rich share more examples of remarkable bird adaptations, nothing that some of our most impressive human accomplishments have been inspired by birds.
