Delisting the Gray Wolf: What Does It Mean for Its Future?

On October 29, 2020, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced the gray wolf would be removed from the federal endangered species list. The decision was made after an assessment that gray wolf populations in the contiguous U.S. were no longer threatened with extinction. What does removing the wolf as an endangered species mean for its future? Was this decision good or bad for wolves? Well, according to wildlife biologist and wolf expert Aaron Bott, it's complicated. Everything to do with wolves seems to be that way. Dive into that complexity with Aaron as he sorts out the ramifications of this momentous decision and what it might mean for the future of wolves on the American landscape. Aaron will also discuss Colorado’s Proposition 114, a mandate from the voters directing wildlife officials to reintroduce gray wolves into Colorado, and how the state will proceed now that it has passed.
