The giant panda conservation story, told in a previous webinar presented by Brad Josephs, is perhaps the greatest endangered species success story in history. it’s surely the most heartwarming, for wildlife lovers around the globe. As giant pandas were saved from a point of near-extinction in the 1980s, so was one of the most biodiverse habitats on Earth, the lush mountains of Sichuan Province that contain the bamboo forests on which the pandas subsist. But there is a lesser-known benefit of protecting that essential habitat, which Brad reveals in today’s webinar. This remote high-altitude terrain also supports a wide array of other animals that have been saved along with the giant panda, including the red panda, moon bear, Sichuan and golden takin, Tibetan macaque, golden monkey, golden pheasant, and many more. Come discover the wild side of China and its magnificent creatures, little known and rarely seen outside this isolated realm.
