A Message from Nat Hab's Founder and President on COVID-19
These are difficult times—there is no denying that. Millions of people around the world have been impacted physically, emotionally and financially by the coronavirus pandemic, and our hearts go out to every one of them. As a company, we have had to cancel dozens of trips already, and each time we send a cancellation notice to a traveler, we feel like we've let them down in our promise to provide a life-enhancing experience in nature.
Despite the hardships, we know we still have work to do. While our worldwide nature adventures have always been the core of our business, they are not the entirety of our mission. Our mission is conservation through exploration. We exist in order to protect the world’s wildlife and wild places, and we won’t stop doing that just because we have been temporarily compelled to stop running trips.
We are using this hiatus in our field operations to bring nature into your home. In the coming weeks you will see many opportunities on our website and in our newsletters to continue learning about conservation, wildlife, the communities we work with around the globe, and the lives of our staff (and possibly even their dogs). While there is nothing like actually visiting a place to get inspired to protect it, we're excited about the content we are putting together and are glad that our drive to achieve our mission won't pause simply because travel has.
We recognize we're in a fortunate position within the travel industry. While this is a tough time economically for everyone in the field, we have planned for downturns in the market and are in a solid place financially. We know we'll be here to get our guests back out into the wild places we all care about soon, and we are actively working to support our many partners around the world to ensure that they are still by our side when the world opens up again.
In the meantime, we invite you to continue exploring with us through our Daily Dose of Nature webinar series. It's designed to inspire, educate and shine a beacon of light until that time in the not-too-distant future when we will be free to once again explore the world in person.
I hope to see you out there soon,
Explorer, Founder, President
At this time, we have canceled all departures through May 31. Beyond that date, we are closely watching the status of each destination and making decisions on a trip-by-trip basis with the best interests of our guests in mind. If you are booked on one of our adventures departing after May 31, 2020, we will contact you about the status of your trip as it gets closer and we have updated information about that destination.
