Born in Tucson, Arizona to parents who met while traveling the world, Paul spent the winters of his youth in South Dakota and his summers in Minnesota and New Hampshire. When he wasn’t playing high school sports or practicing Spanish with the Mexican children his mother had brought to South Dakota to receive medical treatment, he was falling in love with the wild spaces around him. After graduating high school, Paul spent one directionless year in college before deciding to take a semester off…which turned into seven years of adventure travel. During this time he joined the international student leadership organization Up with People, and he quickly applied for a touring staff position. He spent most of his 20s traveling to over 30 countries and 48 states, staying with more than 280 host families, having his perspective turned upside down daily, and meeting and falling in love with the woman who is now his wife.
After his touring life with the organization concluded, Paul settled down in Colorado. Here, he completed a degree in leadership and intercultural communication plus a minor in history. He worked for a short time on entrepreneurial ventures before the spirit of adventure called him back to the travel industry and his current position as Operations Coordinator at Natural Habitat Adventures. An avid outdoorsman, Paul proudly embraces the title of polymath
, with interests ranging from history to athletics and movement, rock climbing, philosophy and more. He brings his love of people and wilderness to his work and has a passion for facilitating the transformative process that is adventure travel.
