Michelle was born in the Philippine Islands and immigrated to the United States when she was 4 years old. She’s lived all over the U.S. since, and before moving to Boulder, Colorado, she lived and worked in Germany. Michelle was the first in her family to pursue a college degree. After graduating from the University of Washington with a business major, she backpacked solo around Western Europe before starting her career in finance. Eventually, her passion for climbing drew her to Boulder, and since that move, she obtained her MBA from the University of Denver. Prior to joining Nat Hab, Michelle's finance career has included strategy and controllership in positions spanning commercial banking, tech, and higher education. Her deeply rooted passions for conservation and travel are what brought her to Nat Hab, where her job offers the perfect nexus for her interests and skills.
Focusing mostly on off-the-beaten-path travel, Michelle has traveled to South Africa, Jordan, Egypt, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and countless places in Europe and Central America. Her most profound nature experience was crouching down in the bush in the wee morning hours at Kruger National Park watching lions mate (this goes on for days at the behest of the lioness). Michelle is an avid rock climber, mountain biker, e-bike commuter, skier and soccer mom to twins.
