Clint Schipper

Clint later worked in the field of wildlife biology in the U.S., Uganda, Kenya and Papua New Guinea. His first taste of Africa was a five-year stint in Uganda, where he engaged in work as varied as it was interesting, holding posts of lead ornithologist on biological expeditions, seasonal bird bander, volunteer chimpanzee caregiver, Uganda Wildlife Authority workshop trainer, fishing guide, safari guide and lodge manager. Clint has also published several papers in internationally recognized scientific journals. In 2010, Clint and his wife, Kati, decided they wanted to expose their two children to African culture, so they moved the family to Arusha, Tanzania. Based in this important safari hub, Clint expanded his career as a guide, working with several top local and international operators. He continues to travel to other African destinations, returning to Uganda to guide safaris, and pursuing additional work in Kenya, the Central African Republic and Cameroon. Clint also trains Tanzanian guides, helping to build building their professional skills, knowledge and techniques. Given his Australian roots, it’s no surprise that Clint is a keen cricketer and Aussie Rules footballer. When he is not in the field or on the field, he enjoys swimming and holds an advanced open water diving license.
The experience Clint has gained working with wildlife and the people of East Africa merely heightens his interest in and love for the region. His academic foundation, extensive field biology experience and keen eye for wildlife and birds, combined with his contagious sense of humor and understanding of the people and customs of the regions he guides in, ensures your safari will be a gratifying and all-encompassing experience.
