Discover Alaska's Wild Interior—Add a 7-Day Extension into the Heart of Denali National Park
Before or after your Southeast Alaska voyage, immerse yourself in the untouched wilderness of Denali National Park, an immense wild landscape in the heart of the Alaska Range that stands in dramatic contrast to the temperate marine environment of the coast. While most visitors to Denali stay in touristy hotels at the crowded park entrance and may do a one-day bus tour at most, this extension offers four nights at a backcountry lodge deep within the wilderness. Via special permits, we access the lodge on a 90-mile drive into the park interior, savoring a slice of its 6 million acres seen by very few visitors. From our base at North Country Lodge, enjoy a range of naturalist-led activities including hiking, mountain biking,
canoeing and fishing.
- Remote Wilderness Lodge OvernightSpend four nights at a wilderness lodge in the remote backcountry of Denali, and savor iconic views of the 20,320-foot peak from nearby Wonder Lake
- Full Days of Activities and CuisineLook for abundant wildlife on a range of outdoor activities, then return for hearty home-cooked meals and naturalist presentations around the fireplace each evening
- First-Class Alaska Railroad RideRide the Alaska Railroad 233 miles from Denali to Anchorage, enjoying GoldStar service in your first-class dome car, with dinner aboard
