Discover Norway...Less Discovered!
- Travel with Just 12 Guests & TWO Guides
A small group is key to an intimate experience of nature. Led by a Nat Hab Expedition Leader and a local guide who adds an insider perspective that only a native Norwegian can provide, you’ll get exceptional personal attention—and we can divide into even smaller groups for excursions at different physical ability levels. - Explore Less-Traveled Highlights for a More Authentic Experience
The fact is, coastal Norway has become very popular as a cruise ship destination. In places like Bergen and Geirangerfjord, thousands of visitors pour off giant vessels, and any sense of quiet wonder in nature is quickly vanquished. That's why we've crafted an itinerary that takes you largely away from the most heavily visited spots. Big cruise ships are banned from Hjorundfjord in summer, allowing us to kayak and explore in peace. Few travelers go inland to Dovrefjell National Park, where we search for musk ox. And some of the tallest waterfalls in the world are in a place that very Norway travelers get to—but you will! - Enjoy Distinctive Small Hotels
From the traditional charm of the Sagafjord Hotel fronting Hjorundfjord, with its sod roof browsed by goats (2021 itinerary) to the renowned Hotel Union Oye that has hosted aristocrats, royalty, artists and adventurers since 1984 (2022 itinerary), to a sophisticated boutique inn on the old Alesund harborfront that harks back to its early 20th-century heritage as a fish-packing warehouse, we enhance your adventure with unique and interesting places to stay. - Safari in Search of Wild Musk Ox
No other itinerary we know of gets you deep into Dovrefjell National Park in search of the shaggy musk ox, one of the Arctic's oldest and hardiest native creatures. Their fine underbelly fur, called qiviut, is softer than cashmere and much warmer than wool, and garments knitted from it are highly coveted. We hike on foot to find the herd, possibly glimpsing other local wildlife, too, such as reindeer or Arctic fox. - Top Naturalist Expedition Leaders Enhance Your Knowledge
