This information applies to Ultimate East Africa trips.
To Join Your Trip:
VACCINATIONSNat Hab requires all guests 5 and older to be fully vaccinated in order to participate. Fully vaccinated guests should upload their vaccination card to their Adventure Portal prior to departure.
Please also be sure to bring your physical vaccination card with you, as you will be required to show proof of full vaccination for entry into Uganda, Kenya & Tanzania, as well as throughout the trip in certain businesses and airports. The governments of these countries define fully vaccinated as having two doses of AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna or Sinopharm OR one dose of Johnson & Johnson.
During Your Trip:
TESTINGTo increase safety on our trips and reduce the risk of possible COVID-19 exposure, Nat Hab will be facilitating a rapid antigen test on Day 1 of your adventure prior to meeting the group. Your Expedition Leader will provide more details upon arrival. This will be at no additional cost to you.
PRIMATE TREKKING
All guests participating in primate tracking activities should carry at least two N95 masks or surgical masks or double layered cloth masks with filters.
BORDER CROSSINGS
This adventure contains a border crossing from Uganda to Kenya.
All travelers arriving into Kenya through any point of entry must have a certificate of COVID-19 vaccination. The Kenyan Government defines fully vaccinated as having two doses of AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna or Sinopharm OR one dose of Johnson & Johnson.
All travelers to Kenya are required to register and upload their vaccination certificates online prior to departure. Travelers should do so by creating an account on https://globalhaven.org/ and following the prompts to upload these documents. Our staff on the ground can assist you if you do not have access to the internet while in camp.
Additionally, the Kenyan Ministry of Health requires all travelers to fill out a Traveler’s Health Surveillance Form at ears.health.go.ke/airline_registration. After completion, you will receive a QR code via email to print and present to the port health officials on arrival in Kenya. Our staff on the ground can assist you if you do not have access to the internet while in camp.
The form will ask you for a contact number from which you can report your health status during your trip. Please use the following phone number: +254 702 630 084. The form will ask you to indicate the location of your first night’s lodging. Please use the following information:
Hotel: House of Waine
Sublocation/Estate: Masai Lane, Bogani Road, Karen
Postal Address: P.O. Box 25035-00603 Nairobi
This adventure contains a border crossing from Kenya into Tanzania.
All travelers arriving into Tanzania through any point of entry must have a certificate of COVID-19 vaccination. The Tanzanian Government defines fully vaccinated as having two doses of AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna or Sinopharm OR one dose of Johnson & Johnson. Please be sure to bring your physical vaccination card with you to Tanzania, as you will be required to show proof of full vaccination for entry, as well as throughout the trip in certain businesses and airports.
Tanzania also requires a health form to be completed 24 hours prior to arrival in Tanzania. The form can be accessed via this link, afyamsafiri.moh.go.tz and our staff on the ground can assist you if you do not have access to the internet while in camp. *It has come to our attention that this website is currently down. We have checked with our partners and they have confirmed that, while the website remains down, travelers are able to enter Tanzania without completing the health form.*
At Trip End:
TO RETURN HOMEStarting June 12, 2022, a negative COVID-19 test to re-enter the U.S. is no longer required. If you were charged for this test along with your final balance, you will be refunded. This government mandate is reevaluated every 90 days. If you require a COVID-19 test for your home country or onward travels, we will be happy to help direct you towards online resources for obtaining the required test, though you will need to arrange and pay for the test on your own.
For more information about the CDC’s current requirements, please visit cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/testing-international-air-travelers.html.
FLIGHTS
Some airlines, depending upon the country you are departing from and/or the country you are connecting through, may require a COVID-19 test prior to your flight’s departure. Please be sure to research your airline’s requirements for your specific flight routing. If you will require testing, please let our Adventure Concierge team know prior to departure so they can direct you to online resources to book your own test.
We also recommend double-checking your on-board mask requirements with the airline you are using to travel abroad.
EXTENDING TO ANOTHER COUNTRY
If you have booked an extension through Nat Hab to another country, Nat Hab will facilitate any testing required for entry into that country. Please see your extension itinerary for specific details.
