Kenya and Tanzania: These storied names evoke a bygone era of safari romance and adventure—seas of golden grass swaying under a blue bowl of sky, great herds of migrating wildebeest and zebra traversing the savanna among rocky outcrops and lacy acacia trees, rhinos browsing on the plains, nights spent gazing into the flicker of a campfire under skies crowded with stars. In the Serengeti and Maasai Mara, behold the timeless drama of predator and prey, the circle of life, unfolding rhythmically on one of Earth’s last great wild stages. This experience of Africa at its most primal still exists and is waiting to be discovered once more on our ultimate Kenya and Tanzania safari. You'll find no more epic encounter with the wonders of East Africa, which seduce contemporary explorers as powerfully as they did their predecessors a century or more ago.

Our Ultimate East Africa Safari Stand Heads Above the Rest!
If you’re making a once-in-a-lifetime trip to East Africa…keep these key elements of our Pride of East Africa Safari in mind as you compare options. You won't find a superior East Africa safari!
A Rare Secluded Experience, Away from Crowds
There’s no question that East Africa draws a lot of safari travelers. The abundant wildlife in Kenya's and Tanzania’s famous national parks and reserves makes them duly popular destinations. That’s why we concentrate on private reserves where visitor numbers are strictly regulated in these legendary regions. After all, do you want to come all the way to East Africa to see a lion surrounded by 15 or 20 other safari vehicles? You’ll be mostly alone with the animals when you stay with us on exclusive private conservancies.
An Itinerary Focused on Peak-Season Wildlife Viewing
We build our itinerary around places where wildlife viewing is superb at the time of year we are visiting. Unlike many companies that operate the same standard itinerary year-round, we tailor ours around seasonal events that determine the best wildlife presence and numbers. A highlight is the three mobile base camps we utilize, each strategically positioned to immerse us in the places where wildlife will be most prolific at that season.
Exclusive Safari Activities on Private Reserves
Most safaris stay strictly within the main areas of popular national parks and reserves. In contrast, we choose remote small safari camps on private conservancies within the Maasai Mara and Serengeti ecosystems, away from big lodges and roads filled with vehicles. From these adjacent reserves we have easy access to more removed sectors of the parks while also enjoying special privileges not offered inside the parks, such as guided safari walks, off-road driving and night drives in search of nocturnal wildlife. Our safari also includes other private conservancies in less-visited regions, with similar special opportunities.
Meet the World's Last Two White Rhinos & Witness Conservation in Action
Located on the Laikipia Plateau in the shadow of Mount Kenya, Ol Pejeta is a working cattle ranch, which first set aside land for rhino conservation in 1988. Today this 90,000-acre sprawl of biodiversity is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and home to Earth's last two northern white rhinos. Visit this pair of females with their guards, and learn about groundbreaking science that's being done to save this species.
Small Groups Mean Better Wildlife Encounters
We travel with a maximum of approximately 12 guests. Many East African safaris take groups of 20 or more, packed into uncomfortable mini buses. Small groups mean we get closer to the herds, have better photo opportunities, and our experience is enriched by more personalized interpretation from our Expedition Leaders as we watch the wildlife action side by side.
Maximize Comfort & Time with Internal Flights
Many safari companies transport you to and from the bush by vehicle—meaning long, dusty drives over rough roads. We’ve included flights wherever possible, maximizing time for what you have come to East Africa for: wildlife viewing on safari!
Count on a Window Seat & Plenty of Space in Our Chartered Vehicles
On our safari, every traveler has a window seat for unimpeded views and photography. We limit the number of travelers in each safari vehicle to maximize comfort. In contrast, many other companies use crowded mini buses, which aren't nearly as mobile or advantageous when it comes to getting you close to the wildlife.
See More Wildlife While Staying Closest to the Crater
At the Ngorongoro Crater, we stay at an intimate small camp on the crater rim at an exclusive location inside both park gates and closer to the crater floor than most other accommodations in the area. This proximity allows exclusive access to wildlife viewing in the crater early in the day, before others arrive from farther away. And, by late afternoon the big cats start to perk up for nighttime hunts, giving us a chance to see a bit of action after most safari vehicles have started their ascent out of the crater in order to make it through both gates by dusk.
