Madikwe Game Reserve is a confluence of Kalahari’s dry savanna and the bushveld, generating a region with one of the most diverse populations of wildlife in a single reserve. Also home to this private reserve is Little Madikwe Hills, a very family friendly environment, and an ideal destination to make lifelong memories.
Warm earth tones compliment the natural ethos while much of the interior is embossed with wooden frames from local trees. The slate fireplace welcomes guests into the dining and living areas, which feel cozy, yet open and airy due to the array of comfortable sofas and large glass windows. While Little Madikwe typically accommodates four guests under a single roof, you can utilize an additional two suites from the main lodge in conjunction with the private lodge to accommodate a total of eight guests. The en suite bedrooms feature bathrooms adorned with bright and neutral textures, allowing a lot of light to come in as well as a private glimpse into the reserve. The space is also complete with a deep bathtub and both indoor and outdoor showers. In between safari excursions, guests can take advantage of the private deck and swimming pool, library, and satellite television.
During your stay, Little Madikwe functions like a private home, extending a full-service staff, private chef, and private safari guide with a vehicle to host all of your activities.
Morukuru Owner’s House

Tucked under the leafy canopy of an ancient morukuru tree on the banks of the Marico River lies this decadent, ultra-luxurious bush home for the ultimate in private safari accommodations. Ideal for honeymooners, couples or a small family, Owners House was built by Morukuru's owners as their own private retreat, with two huge en suite bedrooms and a choice of shared spaces. Surrounded by expansive decks and balconies, Owners House offers plenty of peaceful nooks to hide away or gather together for lounging and memorable al fresco meals. Whether reclining together by your infinity pool, or alone in your private elevated sala, or just lying in bed with the doors wide open listening to the sounds of the African bush, you'll find wondrously restorative moments at Morukuru Owners House. 

Owners House combines contemporary European styling with handpicked African arts and crafts, featuring wood, stone and glass design elements in harmony with the natural setting. No luxury is spared: You'll find a team of eight dedicated staff at your service, home office facilities, a superb wine cellar for your perusal, Wi-Fi connection, stereo system, DVDs, CDs, a small library stocked with safari-themed books, and the opportunity to bathe outside under the stars. Large en suite bedrooms have super-king-size beds and cozy fireplaces. Among the shared spaces are a spacious living room centered on a soaring stone fireplace, outdoor dining spaces lit by romantic lanterns, and a rectangular pool surrounded by expansive decks for lounging. 

Of special note: While the location is completely private, Owners House is within strolling distance from River House using a wooden walkway—an ideal arrangement should you wish to book both houses for a larger party that requires a combination of shared gatherings with maximum privacy.
Morukuru River House

Elegant, contemporary style in harmony with the natural environs defines the ambience of Morukuru River House, a stunning Relais & Chateaux property in the heart of the Madikwe Game Reserve. This luxury private bush house sits on the banks of the Marico River, the most important waterway in the Madikwe Game Reserve and a crucial site of sustenance for wildlife. The multi-level house offered for exclusive use has three double en suite bedrooms, each featuring every comfort including super-king-size beds, fireplaces, individual heating and air conditioning controls, and large tree-shaded private decks. Spacious bathrooms have tubs with bush views, and indoor as well as outdoor private showers. Four children can be comfortably accommodated in the separate family room/study with bunk beds, where they have access to recreational facilities such as satellite TV, Playstation, computer with Internet, and DVDs.

The decor of River House, themed in a neutral palette with warm and bright accents, combines contemporary European styling with handpicked African pieces. An inviting indoor and outdoor flow offers easy movement, and there are plenty of al fresco dining opportunities, including a table set alongside the fire pit at the outdoor boma. A gorgeous infinity pool is illuminated by oil lanterns for a romantic swim setting. Along with all these amenities, River House provides the ultimate of vacation luxuries: a staff of seven to eight at your beck and call, including your own chef, butler, hostess, nanny (if needed), housekeeper, and a private safari guide and tracker, in order to personalize your itinerary completely.

Of special note: River House enjoys a completely private location, yet is within strolling distance of its sister property, Owner’s House—an ideal combination should you wish to book both for a larger party that wishes to enjoy shared gatherings along with maximum privacy.
Morukuru Farm House

Ideally designed for multi-generation guests, Morukuru Farm House is a modern African homestead offering an idyllic private setting for families or groups up to 10 guests. The five-suite Relais & Chateaux property, surrounded by lush lawns and shade trees, is set within a safe 220-acre fenced area that's home to general game, where kids can play and roam at will, and guests have the freedom to walk and explore with wildlife in view.

Furnished by well-known South African interior designer Sumari Krige, the Farm House is bright and stylish, combining contemporary decor with touches of "rustic luxury" and featuring bespoke furnishings and art pieces produced by local artists and craftsmen in a neutral palette. Following the owners’ brief to create spaces where families with children of all ages can completely relax, the overall atmosphere is kick-off-shoes and curl-up-on-the-couch comfort. The five huge en-suite bedrooms are linked to the main area by a covered walkway, and each is equally luxurious, with indoor and outdoor bathrooms and deep porcelain soaking tubs. 

Amenities include air conditioning throughout, complimentary Wi-Fi, electronic safes, a comfortable lounge centered on a large fireplace, dining room, bar, library, and large heated swimming pool. When you book Morokuru Farm House for your party's exclusive use, the highly trained staff including your own private butler and chef will look after your every wish and whim. Nanny service is also available. A private game drive vehicle and safari guide are also included for your exploration of Madikwe Game Reserve, and a host of other activities are also on offer, including bush walks, fishing safaris, birdwatching, cultural visits and dance performances.
