Nat Hab’s Private Mobile Camp–Maasai Mara
Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya
The Maasai Mara National Reserve is the northern part of Tanzania’s vast Serengeti ecosystem, and there's no better way to experience it than from our deluxe mobile camp. To sleep beneath canvas in the bush, under a Milky Way so thick with stars that it looks like clouds, listening for the roar of lions in the distance…it's an iconic safari experience! We place the camp in the very best wildlife-viewing areas, where seclusion in nature prevails. Yet while a remote tented camp may evoke the ambience of old, it doesn’t mean you sacrifice modern-day comforts. Natural Habitat's Private Mobile Camp in the Maasai Mara National Reserve is a most refined way to experience the wilds of Africa. Inside the roomy canvas tents, you’ll find proper beds with high-quality linens and attached en suite bathroom. Your own veranda, shaded beneath a canvas awning, has classic director’s chairs for surveying the savanna. Kerosene lanterns lend an atmospheric glow at night. Evenings in camp are magical, with dinner served on a white tablecloth under the stars, and nighttime stories around a roaring campfire.
Our remote setting means we are far from tourist crowds based at large commercial lodges, and we follow animals on our wildlife drives, not other Land Rovers. The Mara's herds and predators are legendary, and rightly so: one of Africa’s most famous safari destinations, these vast plains in southwest Kenya are known for their large herds of hoofed game, abundant lions and the rich culture of the Maasai people, traditional pastoral herders who have grazed cattle here for centuries.
