500 Rai Floating Raft House
Khao Sok National Park, Thailand
One of the most uniquely situated hotels in Southeast Asia, 500 Rai Floating Raft House is a deluxe ecolodge built on a wooden floating platform on the teal waters of Cheow Larn Lake. Individual wooden chalets have rich teak walls and floors; a ground-floor bedroom with large, comfortable bed, wicker chaise and writing desk; a loft with additional twin beds; and en suite bathroom with toilet, pedestal sink, shower and deep soaking tub. Each has a glass front with sliding door opening onto a private veranda overlooking the lake and mountains in the distance. The resort is ideally located to take full advantage of the many nature-based activities on and around the lake, including boat cruises, birdwatching and rain forest walks.
