“Brad was very attentive to our needs and we learned a great deal from his expertise on bears. He was flexible and changed plans according to the needs of the group, which was greatly appreciated. Even more, he seemed excited to be leading this adventure and excited about the bears- it was not just a job for him, and that made the trip more exciting and positive for us as well. Our local guide, Chris, was exceptional. He was calm, caring, knowledgeable, had a sense of humor and made everything on this trip happen as smoothly as possible. We felt very safe in his hands. I would feel safe going anywhere with Chris, and he deserves great accolades for how he took care of the group on this trip. Also our local guides, Lei Lei and Jessica were wonderful as well. What I enjoyed most was how safe I felt with our trip leaders and the organization of the trip. I have not done much international travel and I was not sure what to expect--I was quite nervous about the trip. But from the travel plans to the guidelines on what to pack to being met at the airport by a NatHab representative and guided along skillfully and easily by Brad and Chris once we were there, I felt well taken care of, safe, and I was able to have fun and enjoy the nature and the history of China because of that. I would absolutely go on another Natural Habitat adventure, and will recommend it to all my friends."
“Brad was great. I feel he is a great asset to you. He gave me many great trips on photography and instructed me until the concept--foreign to me-- and understanding was clear."
“Our Chinese guide/specialist, Chris, made the trip! His historical knowledge and candid delivery was remarkable. His warmth as an individual and his ability to function under stressful circumstances was remarkable!!!! The Pandas were remarkable, especially because of our trip leaders checking out the best places to get to see the Pandas and their behavior. It was an exhilarating trip and was led by two remarkable individuals, Brad Josephs, a bear and photography specialist and our Chinese guide, Chris. Brad and Chris created a family out of a rag tag group of diverse individuals and led us seamlessly through what could otherwise have been a number of dicey events between Beijing, Xi"an and Chengdu. Each of us felt that we were given truly individualized attention. Brad gave each photographer the time to both learn and practice handling their equipment as well as the unique challenges of the physical setting and the subjects. Chris responded to each of us as if we were long time friends, making sure that every need we had was anticipated and met. We were able to get the most of each venue and felt that we had had a personal interaction with China, its people and its wildlife. Because of Chris's extra efforts we were able to make what would have been tenuous and, in the most important instance, impossible connections. I could not rate anyone more highly than Chris. His devotion to the group, his facility with English, and his remarkable knowledge of history combined to make him irreplaceable. Thank you for these wonderful individuals and the excellent arrangements."
“Local staff was excellent. They had good command of English, worked hard to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of the travelers and were very knowledgeable of the local area. They helped make the trip. Chris Che, the local tour escort is a very good addition to the tour and helped greatly to make the tour the success it was. Brad's knowledge and enthusiasm is first rate. He knows and is passionate about his bears. With the wide range of travelers he was very good at seeing to the needs of all and no one felt left behind. He gave us good background on what to expect at each site and he did his best to see that our experience was great. The bears and the trip to Jiuzhaigou were great. The panda encounter was very special and put the icing on the trip. It was a great and unexpected treat."
“Brad is an excellent guide! I was extremely excited to see that he was guiding this trip. He has excellent knowledge of China and pandas, as well as other animals. He also has excellent knowledge about cameras and helped me get out of the idiot modes (i.e., sports, automatic, portrait, landscape). Brad pays attention to details, by getting to know you, you likes, dislikes, what you want to see, how you are doing. He is an excellent guide. Would go on a trip with him anytime. Our local and national guides, were very knowledgeable and took care of all of our needs. The moon bear rescue center was an experience that I would like to do again. I appreciate the work that they are doing at the center. Thanks for the panda activity. I really appreciated the interaction with the pandas. I was so excited that I did that sub-adult activity again and also the younger panda activity. Thanks again.”
“Food was excellent and all of our hotels were 5 star. Spacious, clean, comfortable, excellent service – world class. This trip was a superb mix of city, town, culture (Chinese and Tibetan), history, conservation efforts and natural reserves. I can’t imagine a better way to present China at its best. What a place!!!”
“Brad paid attention to everyone and was truly outstanding in teaching photography, making his ideas easily understandable, not minding repetitive questions, always willing to share specific setup ideas. Hard to imagine a better person for a photography trip! I loved the pandas and will forever remember the hike to and seeing the golden monkeys. I learned a lot about the habitat for pandas and golden pheasants.”
“I enjoyed this trip immensely! My favorite was spending time with the pandas. I also enjoyed our guides’ knowledge – they shared not only information about the animals, but also information about Chinese culture that most people aren’t privy to. They guaranteed a terrific time.”
“Excellent! I loved being in the remote areas and seeing pandas and then of course the snub nose monkeys, which was icing on the cake!”
“Interacting with the pandas was an amazing experience! I loved the itinerary and ending with pandas made it very special to finish on a high.”
