Few trips offer as rich an experience of Peru’s diverse natural and cultural treasures. An immersion into the primeval rainforest at Manu takes us deep within the most biodiverse region of the Amazon Basin. Home to a staggering array of wildlife, including the elusive jaguar, the park’s 13 ecological zones host nearly a thousand species of birds alone. West into the high green peaks of the Andes lies another marvel, this one of human origin: Machu Picchu, the mystical stone city built by the Incas in the 15th century, and below, the Sacred Valley of the Urubamba River, replete with myth and ruins.

R/T travel between your home city and Peru, 2 meals on Day 5, travel insurance, gratuities, alcoholic beverages, personal items, airport taxes.

Physical Requirements
Easy / Flexible
This program does not require a high degree of physical fitness, although the Machu Picchu portion does require a lot of walking at high altitudes. We do not recommend that travelers with heart or respiratory ailments attempt these treks. The Amazon can be quite humid, and walking on muddy trails may be necessary. We suggest that any traveler who is concerned with his or her personal physical capabilities should contact our office for further details on the exact physical requirements of this trip, as well as a personal physician for his/her opinion.

Getting There & Getting Home
Arrive in Lima anytime on Day 1 and depart in the afternoon or evening from Lima on Day 10. Generally, international flights depart Lima in the late evening.
