MARKETING MANAGER


Join a small group of adventure travel professionals with this unique opportunity to contribute to two rapidly-growing ecotourism companies. This marketing manager will split time equally between The Travel Yogi/Gaiam and Natural Habitat Adventures, assisting both organizations with a broad range of marketing responsibilities.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are in search of a highly talented, hands-on direct marketing manager with a broad skill set. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for a wide range of activities including developing print and digital strategies, building and running successful campaigns, and managing programs and projects. This is an opportunity for a motivated, self-driven marketer to have a major impact during a high-growth phase.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
 - Content development: Creation of interesting and relevant content for social media, company blogs, company website, and other digital platforms. Excellent written communication skills are a must.
 - Social media campaign management: Oversee conceptual development and implementation of creative campaigns through social channels to grow audiences and increase engagement.
- Website & blog management: Assist website managers and blog editors with tasks such as updating content, creating and formatting
- Enews program management: Write, upload, design, and format content for weekly enewsletters.
- Direct mail project management: Organize and manage print mail campaigns, including coordination of contributors, negotiation with suppliers, and tracking and reporting results.
- Partner and community outreach: Attend consumer travel and yoga shows to promote products and brand. Manage existing partnerships and develop creative new ones.
- Monitoring & reporting results: The ideal candidate will not only be good at, but enjoy analyzing, reviewing, and reporting on the effectiveness of digital and print platforms, content, and campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
- Staying current: Ongoing attention to new advances in digital and print marketing and the competitive landscape.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 4 year university degree in business, marketing or related areas of study or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3+ years business experience. A track record of delivering results is required.
- Minimum of 2+ years managing digital marketing campaigns and day-to-day web activities including social campaigns, blog management, content development, etc
- Minimum of 2+ years project management experience.
- 2+ years applicable experience in the travel industry preferred. An interest in yoga is a plus.
- Experience with email marketing software. MailChimp experience is ideal but not required.
- Experience in website CMS and blogging platforms. Wordpress experience is ideal but not required.
- Experience with design software (Photoshop, InDesign, etc) is highly desirable but not required.
- Creative thinking. We're looking for a self-motivated go-getter to dial up our digital and direct marketing, always thinking of the appropriate considerations, opportunities, and tactics to enable speedy progress.
- Exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail. This is a fast-paced operation, in a high-growth phase, so it's critical to successfully keep multiple balls in the air at once.
- Commitment and motivation. This person will singlehandedly be responsible for the success of the marketing programs that s/he manages.
- Curiosity -- about marketing developments, about what our competitors are doing, about how our guests/prospects think, about how our trips are presented, about what works for our audience.
- Strong communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Strong copywriting and editing skills are a necessity.
- Advanced computer skills including MS Office, database programs, website management, Wordpress, Mailchimp, etc.
- A passion for yoga, eco-travel, the environment, conscious interactions and sustainable business practices.

This position reports to the Director (The Travel Yogi) and the VP of Marketing (Nat Hab).

ADVENTURE SPECIALIST
We are looking for salesperson with significant experience in the travel industry: Africa, Galapagos, etc. and extensive travel experience.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: learning our destinations and trip itineraries, taking calls and replying to emails from prospective travelers, following up on leads to help determine the best trip fit for our travelers, booking and entering reservations and handling any pre-trip questions, developing and writing custom itineraries and proposals.

OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
This is a fulltime office position based in Boulder, CO. At NHA, we relish our casual, animal-friendly work environment. Although we take our jobs very seriously, we cannot say the same for ourselves. We continually strive to improve while operating with a sense of humor and respect for one another.

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for assisting the operations team in the planning and execution of NHA’s worldwide expeditions. Sample job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

- Contact travelers to follow up on missing pre-trip information. Discuss special needs and relay information to operator/guides.
- Set up trip logistics, including organization of meals, transportation and activities.
- Maintain informational materials for clients and in-house sales staff.
- Manage vehicle schedules and overall upkeep.
- Obtain staff and trip permits.
- Compile and review traveler, guide and staff evaluations and feedback.
- Monitor/facilitate branded material usage in the field.

REQUIREMENTS
Experience: Must have at least 2 years of previous related office experience in a multitasking environment. Must possess a demonstrated passion for travel/tourism, nature/wildlife or a related field. International travel experience preferred, but not required.

Knowledge, skills and abilities: Must be highly organized and detail oriented. Ability to prioritize and efficiently manage multiple tasks, taking initiate to improve processes or create solutions where needed. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High levels of integrity, maturity and enthusiasm. Must be able to adapt to changing and flexible responsibilities. Ability to work individually and as part of a team, with interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with all types of people: staff, guides, clients, vendors. Working knowledge of office systems and equipment (e.g. computers, telephones, copiers, internet.) Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook.

DESTINATION MANAGER

The Destination Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of NHA’s wildlife expeditions in a variety of countries worldwide. In accordance with our philosophy of continual improvement, NHA expects our Destination Managers to strive to raise the standard of ecotourism and conservation.

This is a fulltime office position based in Boulder, CO. At NHA, we relish our extremely casual, animal-friendly work environment. Sample responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Liaison and negotiate with operators and/or vendors to develop and organize trip logistics/details.
- Confirm trip dates, set trip pricing, prepare catalog pages, maintain web pages.
- Use computer reservations system to enter trips, monitor booking progress, open/close trips as necessary.
- Create documents (checklists, spreadsheets) to manage on-going trip operations.
- Act as resource for in-house sales staff and clients regarding all aspects of trips.
- Follow-up on missing pre-trip information from travelers. Call or email all travelers in advance of departures. Discuss any special needs with travelers and pass information to operator/guides. Review traveler pre-trip materials and ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Ensure guides are prepared with pre-trip instructions and complete traveler information.
- Work with operators and vendors to hold adequate trip space in advance, release space by the deadline, and reclaim space as needed.
- Act as problem solver for travelers, guides, and operators during every departure (including evenings and weekends.)
- Review feedback from travelers, guides, office staff and operators. Initiate improvements for future departures.
- Review all invoices in detail, make necessary corrections with operators & vendors, and monitor until payment is complete.
- Ensure the NHA brand is consistently visible throughout each trip. Maintain NHA travel standards in all locations.
- Research and develop new trips.

REQUIREMENTS
Experience: At least three years experience in an operations role within the adventure travel industry required. International travel experience HIGHLY PREFERRED. Must possess a demonstrated passion for travel/tourism, environmental responsibility, nature/wildlife, or a related field.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Must be highly organized and detail oriented. Ability to prioritize and efficiently manage multiple tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High levels of integrity, maturity and enthusiasm. Must be able to adapt to changing and flexible responsibilities. Ability to work individually and as part of a team. Must possess the interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with all types of people: staff, guides, clients, vendors. Working knowledge of office systems and equipment (e.g. computers, telephones, copiers, internet.) Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook.
