NHA's office staff consists of highly qualified travel personnel, each staff member dedicated to preserving nature and pursuing excellence in serving our guests. This is a full-time office position based in Boulder, CO. At NHA, we relish our extremely casual, animal-friendly work environment. Sample responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Experience: At least three years experience in an operations role within the adventure travel industry required. International travel experience HIGHLY PREFERRED. Must possess a demonstrated passion for travel/tourism, environmental responsibility, nature/wildlife, or a related field.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Must be highly organized and detail oriented. Ability to prioritize and efficiently manage multiple tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High levels of integrity, maturity and enthusiasm. Must be able to adapt to changing and flexible responsibilities. Ability to work individually and as part of a team. Must possess the interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with all types of people: staff, guides, clients, vendors. Working knowledge of office systems and equipment (e.g. computers, telephones, copiers, internet.) Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook.
COMPENSATION
Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits include vacation, annual travel opportunities, pro-deals on outdoor clothing, onsite fitness facility and exercise classes. Eligibility for medical insurance and participation in 401(k) after pre-determined period of time.

Destination Manager
The Destination Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of NHA’s wildlife expeditions in a variety of countries worldwide. In accordance with our philosophy of continual improvement, NHA expects our Destination Managers to strive to raise the standard of ecotourism and conservation.This is a full-time office position based in Boulder, CO. Sample responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Liaison and negotiate with operators and/or vendors to develop and organize trip logistics/details.
- Confirm trip dates, set trip pricing, prepare catalog pages, maintain web pages.
- Use computer reservations system to enter trips, monitor booking progress, open/close trips as necessary.
- Create documents (checklists, grids) to manage on-going trip operations.
- Act as resource for in-house sales staff and clients regarding all aspects of trips.
- Follow-up on missing pre-trip information from travelers. Call or email all travelers in advance of departures. Discuss any special needs with travelers and pass information to operator/guides. Review traveler pre-trip materials and ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Ensure guides are prepared with pre-trip instructions and complete traveler information.
- Work with operators and vendors to hold adequate trip space in advance, release space by the deadline, and reclaim space as needed.
- Act as problem solver for travelers, guides, and operators during every departure (including evenings and weekends.)
- Review feedback from travelers, guides, office staff and operators. Initiate improvements for future departures.
- Review all invoices in detail, make necessary corrections with operators & vendors, and monitor until payment is complete.
- Ensure the NHA brand is consistently visible throughout each trip. Maintain NHA travel standards in all locations.
- Research and develop new trips.
