Megan's Adventures

In the Okavango Delta, Botswana, with a curious elephant.Sacola Community Dancers at the Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Rwanda, before our gorilla trek.An amazing moment seeing a young mountain gorilla up close in Rwanda!A Tanzanian sundowner with Christy and Shelby from Nat Hab and our fabulous guides!Interacting with a Rothschild giraffe at the Giraffe Centre in Nairobi. On the banks of the Lower Zambezi in Zimbabwe's Mana Pools National Park - the next day we ran into a sleeping hippo and ended up teetering on his back, but luckily did not flip! The view from Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa. You can see Robben Island, the new Green Point Stadium built for World Cup 2010 and all of Table Bay. Stunning!Ah, the cliff hung beaches of Fregate Island in Seychelles, in the middle of the Indian Ocean.Rolling around in the sand with Himba boys at Serra Cafema in Namibia's far northern reaches. In a Himba Village near Serra Cafema Camp in northern Namibia. They say it's the most remote safari camp in Africa.A full moon sundowner at Jack's Camp in the Eastern Kalahari of Botswana.A sunrise breakfast on a spit of sand in the Indian Ocean, just off Soneva Fushi island in the Maldives.A great balloon flight over the Maasai Mara in Kenya!Possibly the best nature experience ever, Mombo Camp in Botswana's Okavango Delta. Horseback riding on Benguerra Island off the coast of Mozambique. This is a great spot to go after a good safari - horseback riding optional!Lone zebra in the Ndutu Area around the southern Serengeti in Tanzania. Experiencing a 'hatching' of green turtle eggs on Madagascar's Nosy Iranja Island - not to worry, the turtle was not harmed, he scurried out to see moments later! The most magical place - the islands of northern Madagascar's Nosy Be area. Not only did these beaches rival those of the Seychelles and Maldives, there was a local element so authentic and enriching - these women were 'herding' fish into bed sheets.Ringtailed lemur in the southern part of Madagascar.Sipping from the Fontana della Barcaccia in Rome...for luck!Vernazza, Cinque Terre, Italy. We hiked between two of the five villages here, and this was on approach to Vernazza.Getting ready to hike with friends at home in Boulder, Colorado!
