Christy's Adventures

Home: Beach Pond, CT. We are standing on the Rhode Island side of the lake and looking across to CT. If you haven’t been to the northeastern part of the US, you should make it a point go visit – it’s beautiful!New Zealand truly is as breathtaking as everyone claims it to be. I snapped this shot while kayaking from Lake Moeraki Wilderness Lodge in the misty morning – a wonderful way to start the day! Here I am with my brother and his wife on a canopy tour in the Monteverde Cloud Forest, Costa Rica. Flying through the air, suspended by just a harness and a cable, engulfed in clouds…yesssss!
The majestic Milford Sound on New Zealand’s south island, where snowy peaks and waterfalls surround you. It is often cloudy and rainy here on the south island’s west coast; a clear day like this one is uncommon – what luck! The Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness, Colorado. This photo was taken at the beginning of the 8.5 mile hike up Conundrum Valley on my way to Conundrum Hot Springs, a site which sports breathtaking views down the valley from its cozy perch nestled in at 11,200 feet. Some of the Nat Hab ladies, dressed in their finest and sending kisses at our 2006 Holiday Party. An iceberg off the coast of Old Bonaventure, Newfoundland. This was my very first iceberg experience! That’s me at Cape Spear in Newfoundland: the most easterly point on the North American continent. While many people think of Newfoundland as being very far north, it’s actually at about the same latitude as Paris.Winterfest 2009 at Arapahoe Basin in Colorado. Once a year, we take the day off for an office-wide ski trip and barbeque. This is one of the many reasons we love working at Nathab!Taken from the lift over the back bowl at A-Basin – that’s my husband and I enjoying some winter fun in Colorado. My friend Tasha and I taking a dip in a sun-warmed limestone pool beside the raging Cahabón River during a visit to Semuc Champey. After a long, grueling bus ride, a landslide and a few giant insects, we discovered this little paradise in Guatemala is well worth the effort. The first glass butterfly I ever met. Amazing. This is the Green Hills Butterfly Farm in Belize.Sunset from the beach at Kanantik. Your beautiful, private cabana is just steps away. How about a little hang time in the hammock? A visit to the observation tower in the jungle? A dip in the pool? A fruity beverage? A little snorkeling? Ahhhhhh…this is the life. That’s me on the right, hiking Grouse Gulch, just outside of Silverton, Colorado.Cruising Waterton Lakes last July: Waterton Lakes, in Canada, is a sister park to Glacier National Park, in Montana. In 1932 they were united as the first-ever international peace park. Another day on the mountain under sunny, blue Colorado skies.Sunset with the fishermen, Bay Bulls, NewfoundlandDominical, Costa Rica (great surfing) - this view can be seen on the drive from Golfito to Tiskita.Enjoying a quiet moment in Virginia’s Appalachian MountainsSunrise in Zion: I love the colors of the American Southwest, especially at sunrise and sunset. I first visited the leaning tower of Pisa in 1995. Having been back recently, I finally had the opportunity to go to the top, alongside my brother Jamie. “We’re off to see the wizard…” – (Limestone Castles, New Zealand)This image was taken in September (2007) at Point Imperial, on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, just as the sun was coming up.
