Linda loves Alaska! She moved to the 49th state to work as a geologist after living initially in Canada, then into naturalist guide work with NHA after she relocated to Kodiak Island, where she currently resides. When she’s not out sharing the wonders of the North Country with her guests, you’ll find her hiking, camping, exploring tide pools, cross-country skiing and ice skating on frozen lakes in winter. Linda’s spirit of adventure is infectious, and she loves to get others as excited about the Alaskan outdoors as she is. In the off-season she works for the local college and school district, sharing her knowledge of and passion for the outdoor world.

Praise from Natural Habitat travelers:
“I did not find any place in the previous evaluation to comment about our Kodiak NatHab guide Linda Himelbloom. Linda was outstanding. She very kindly spent a great deal of time with us at the beginning and the end of the trip and as a result we had a great time in Kodiak and got to see lots of interesting things and learn much about the local environment and culture. She is very knowledgeable about Kodiak culture and environment, and is eager to share that knowledge. I really appreciate all she did."
“Linda was on-time, offered suggestions and flexibility. She was exceptional. Because she lived on Kodiak she was very informed, very pleasant."
“Linda was great. Very helpful from the time I arrived. I loved her smile. She complimented Brad beautifully on and off the kittiwake."
“Our local guide, Linda was also very good and knowledgeable of the Kodiak area. She was very accomodating and took us around Kodiak to many different museums and area attractions. I really enjoyed spending time with Linda while we were in Kodiak. She was great!"
