Custom Family Yellowstone Adventure

A Fun-Filled Family Adventure into America’s Favorite National Park!
When President Theodore Roosevelt visited Yellow-stone National Park in 1903, he proclaimed it “absolutely unique in the world.” Embracing the idea of natural beauty as a national asset, he championed the idea of national parks, building a priceless legacy for generations to follow. In the northwest corner of Wyoming, two treasured parks offer a classic family vacation as captivating today as in Teddy’s time. What better way to explore Yellowstone and the Tetons than on this fully guided adventure with our naturalist Expedition Leader? From wildlife to waterfalls, smelling sage and looking up at the stars, Yellowstone Country still works strong magic.
  • Explore Yellowstone’s treasure trove of geothermal wonders with our Expedition Leader, who unveils the park’s secrets especially for kids!
  • Meet the West’s most famous wild residents – bison, elk, deer, pronghorn antelope and bears – as we search for wildlife while avoiding crowds
  • Float the placid Snake River through Jackson Hole in the shadow of the Grand Tetons, scouting for elk and eagles
Location of Adventure
Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks, Wyoming

Group Size Limit
Approximately 14 Travelers
A very important feature of our trips is the limited group size as nature expeditions are best experienced with smaller sized groups of travelers.

Included
Accommodations, meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast on final day, bottled water, services of NHA Expedition Leaders and local guides, most gratuities, airport transfer on Day 1, permits and entrance fees, all taxes.

Not Included
Travel to and from start and end point of trip, alcoholic beverages, some gratuities, passport and visa fees, optional activities, airport transfer on final day, items of a personal nature (phone calls, souvenirs, etc.), airline baggage fees, airport and departure taxes, optional travel insurance.

Physical Requirements
Moderate / Flexible
Hikes in Yellowstone are generally moderate in physical exertion.  Your guide will select outings that are appropriate for your family.  On this trip we awaken early, often before sunrise, when wildlife viewing is at its best and other visitors are at a minimum.

Important Information
Our Expedition Leaders know this area so well that they can, with our guests’ help, create a relatively remote experience even though this area is known as a traditionally crowded spot, particularly in summertime. We operate this trip similarly to our African safaris: We visit wildlife spots in the early-morning hours, when casual tourists are still asleep and the wildlife viewing is best. We also know many trails well off the beaten path, to avoid crowds. Walks of several miles will allow you to take advantage of our Expedition Leaders’ knowledge so you, too, can experience the region’s hidden treasures.

Getting There & Getting Home
Arrive in Jackson, Wyoming in time for a 6pm orientation dinner and depart anytime on the final day as we spend our final evening together in Jackson.

Age Limits on Family Adventures

We generally welcome children ages 6 and older on most of our Family adventures. As this is a custom trip, we believe that you, as a parent or guardian, are best qualified to decide whether or not your child would enjoy the experience. We strongly encourage you to call our office to speak with an Adventure Travel Specialist about the specific requirements of the trip you're considering so that you can make an informed decision about your child's participation.
